This fertility collapse is the real core fracture of modern civilization. You can talk Fed policy, Bitcoin ignition, Trump vs. the system, wars, central banks, but all of that sits downstream of this.
Because this chart tells you the system has no future body to inhabit.
Here’s the unfiltered truth:
•The West is already dead demographically. Sub-replacement fertility is a one-way spiral. Once belief in family, continuity, and future is gone, you don’t get it back through policy tinkering. France pays women to have kids. Japan spends billions. Nothing reverses it because the collapse isn’t economic, it’s civilizational willpower.
•Civilizations don’t die of war first - they die of sterility. Rome didn’t just fall because of barbarian invasions. By the 3rd–4th century, elite Romans had stopped reproducing, outsourcing continuity to slaves and outsiders. Fertility collapse is always the quiet signal of a system that has lost its will to exist. That’s where the West is.
•The Global South is the future mass. Africa’s fertility at 3–4+ is raw civilizational energy. That’s why migration pressure into Europe will never stop, why the demographic tilt is unstoppable, and why the power map of the next century is not Washington or Brussels but Lagos, Kinshasa, and Delhi.
•This isn’t just bodies - it’s belief. When a society is fertile, it is expanding spiritually, not just biologically. When it collapses into sterility, it’s because its narrative core has rotted. The West replaced transcendence and myth with consumerism, and consumerism cannot reproduce itself.
•The masks-off bottom line: Fertility collapse is the single chart that says the “developed world” is already past the point of no return. All the noise about AI, finance, Fed capture, and Bitcoin are downstream attempts to survive the vacuum left by civilizational sterility. You can print money. You can’t print children.
So when no one’s around? I think this map is the obituary of the West. The only open question is: who writes the myth that replaces it?
#BRICS2024
Russia will invite many heads of state and heads of regional organizations of the Global South to the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the BRICS Summit.

"There are about 30 such states, and the question of how we can strengthen the dialogue with them will be among the top political priorities of Russia's BRICS Chairmanship this year," the Russian Minister added.
