Let's Go #Artemis!

INTRODUCING THE CREW OF NASA ARTEMIS III
A collaboration between NASA and Italy, Artemis III will dock with SpaceX and Blue Origin lunar landers in low Earth orbit in 2027.
RIP 🫡💫

I want to add that Karin also was a beacon of space education. On several German events, I had the pleasure to talk to her, and she regularly joined German Discord calls to share her wisdom.
Rest in Peace @sturmf1
One of the best NASA recordings you’ll ever hear
This is the descent audio from Apollo 12 Moon Landing. The second their landing site comes into view, you can hear the pure excitement. It’s real, unfiltered, and transports you straight into the cockpit with Pete Conrad and Alan Bean
Apollo 16 Orion lifted off from the Moon today in 1972
The TV camera is mounted on the LRV and received commands from Ed Fendell in Houston.
The 16mm camera was inside the LM Ascent Stage.
On This Day 1972 - Apollo 16 Landing 16mm Footage Upscaled 60FPS
Full video in comments
This footage was filmed on the 16mm DAC camera mounted above the Lunar Module Pilot's LM window during landing. It has been upscaled and interpolated to 60FPS, and synced with mission audio by Moonpans.

A German could become the first European on the Moon
This was stated by Minister for Research and Space Dorothee Bär. According to her, Germany achieved this in negotiations with the European Space Agency, outpacing France and Italy.
It is not yet decided who will fly. The main candidates are Alexander Gerst and Matthias Maurer, both of whom have already been to the ISS.
A crewed mission to the Moon is planned no earlier than 2028.
New video released by NASA shows an impressive view of the historic Artemis II launch, captured by a camera mounted on the side of the rocket as it blasts off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Este vídeo es alucinante: compara los tiempos de despeje de plataforma de lanzamiento de #SLS-Artemis y #Saturno5-Apolo. La contribución de los SRBs claramente marca la diferencia, pero yo sigo enamorado del #Saturno5.
Exhausted Apollo 13 flight controllers, joined by astronauts, managers, and VIPs in the Mission Control Center in Houston, rejoiced in the safe splashdown of the Apollo 13 astronauts in the Pacific Ocean on this day in 1970.
The mission became known as NASA's successful failure. Despite the explosion that seriously disabled the spacecraft, quick and creative thinking allowed the crew to return home safely.
"We launched as friends, and we came back as best friends."
Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman takes a moment to thank the world before today's crew news conference at @NASA_Johnson.
SLS vs. Saturn V, a real time comparison.
Saw a comparison yesterday using my video on the left at 50% speed. Here's a proper comparison with both rockets launching at their real speeds.
You'll notice SLS is significantly faster off the pad because of the dual massive SRBs!

Pete Conrad’s first words on the Moon
Video here https://t.co/e7i5QgX3fX
When Neil Armstrong stepped on to the moon in July 1969, he said the historic words, That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind
Many people believed that NASA had written the words for Neil, but the astronauts were in fact free to say whatever they liked
To prove this the third man on the moon Pete Conrad who was only 5 foot 6 inches, had a bet with a reporter Oriana Fallaci for $500, that he would make a joke about his short height. As he stepped on to the moon
Conrads firsts words were, "Whoopie! Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but that's a long one for me!"
Conrad won the bet, but never did receive the $500!
27 years ago PBS aired this retrospective on the Apollo program. I've recaptured it in three parts and am putting it here, so as to preserve the interviews with the astronauts and NASA staff especially. Many of whom are dead now. Hear them in their own words. (part 1 of 3)
