@RogueColonel@Blakes7Diary i didnt think you watched the recent stuff. it was great, i'll take most of the last two years over almost any moffet era. i didnt watch the finale but they were always bad - right back to ecclestone.
the burbs is a fave of mine. thought for years it would make a fun show. its getting one (though i'd prefer an episodic take than the streaming stretch movie structure i assume we'll get) with keke palmer - she's great. Oh and jack whitehall. Damn you monkey paw! damn you to hell
today was my online movie clubs 200th meeting. we watched Fateful Findings a sort of 'what if Trump made a david lynch' movie that generally defies belief. any club that would have me as a member should probably be suspect but i wouldnt give it up for anything.
Most people know shaken not stirred and the gun he uses but my favourite lesser remarked on tropes of Bond are his sex boats and how bad he actually is at killing the villains (I could make an argument that he doesn't directly kill the main baddie until live and let die)
im doing some thematic prep before seeing @rianjohnson's wake up dead man in a couple of weeks and reading the hollow man. in which the lead detective admits he's in a detective novel and lays out the rules for locked room mysteries. Its 90 years old and nothing has changed.
