@fluffypony @TopHatCyber @monerocurrency Well thank you for responding and not denying that the wallet does this. Hopefully in your next release this can be addressed as well. I would say it would be very easy for the US gov to correlate wallets in this manner over the other ip leakage
@fluffypony@monerocurrency True but monerod also has DNS queries for seed.moneroseeds which would be easy to see. So if they're not running a monero node, like you said earlier was the most common configuration, then it would be clear they have a wallet running.
@fluffypony @TopHatCyber @monerocurrency VPNs don't inherently protect you against DNS leakage https://t.co/jsuZScrX46 " despite the use of a VPN service to attempt to conceal them"
@fluffypony@monerocurrency DNS Leak == Your IP Being logged by the DNS Server and correlating it to that URL. If that url is ONLY ever requested by a monero wallet then your ip + that url == user with a wallet https://t.co/c5zxO5Nj68
@blbtheman @fluffypony @3a5b2f83c83852 @jdebunt From an info sec stand point idc your color, coin or gender. I just want users to be safe. As long as we all push toward that goal ๐
@fluffypony @3a5b2f83c83852 @jdebunt Well that highlight isn't wrong lmao. If you join the p2p network and don't obfuscate your ip, you ARE broadcasting your location...
