Net Worth updates - August 1, 2026

We've reached $394,111 (+31.5% YoY)

This comes after a brief pullback in the month of May & a fairly stagnant June, both as a result of legal expenses (wife immigration process) and home improvement expenses

I'm looking forward to August being a more normalized month (hopefully) in terms of expenses so that I can put some extra cash towards the student loan payments & our emergency fund

Hoping we will see $400k+ by the end of the month!

Net Worth Tracker updated for April 2026

May 1st, 2026 Net Worth = $369,670

MoM increase = +$22,382 🤯 (largest positive change since Nov 2024)

YoY increase = +$121,648

- Debt levels remained nearly unchanged but assets increased significantly

- Most asset increases were investment accounts, predominantly the Roth IRA which benefited from appreciation + 2025 contributions

- Home values in the Providence area remained fairly steady, so insignificant changes to the rental property values

May 2026 is going to be filled with a lot of maintenance expenses and CapEx improvements for the rental properties, so I don't expect to see much improvement on paper... But we will see!

If it makes a push towards $120 over the coming days, I'll probably trim the position back and enjoy some profits.

Currently 6% of the account, so I'd taper it back closer to a 4% holding.

Finally out of $CMG

My July $37.50’s expired out of the money, and last week I had another $37.50 call expire just out of the money.

About $200 of premium collected between the two contracts.

Today we gapped up, so I took the opportunity to close out the $CMG shares at $37.91 instead of playing around with more covered calls.

After collecting premiums & holding for over a year, I’ve probably just about broken even on this trade 😅

We don't have enough power.

AI chip-driven electricity demand is projected to surge to a record ~315 gigawatts globally by 2033.

That would represent an increase of more than +1,100% since 2025.

The US is expected to account for ~64% of this new AI electricity demand, or ~200 GW.

Meanwhile, AI data centers are also putting huge strain on power infrastructure.

During model training, hundreds of thousands of GPUs can power up and down simultaneously, causing electricity usage to spike as much as 50% above design capacity.

These sharp power swings can accelerate wear on batteries, generators, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure, increasing maintenance and replacement costs.

We need new energy infrastructure.
