The EU has invited Taliban officials to Brussels to discuss a migration deal — and today I am shaken and deeply disturbed by this.

This is the same Taliban that banned girls from secondary schools and forced them into marriage. The same Taliban that, earlier this month, arrested dozens of women in Herat for how they were dressed. The same Taliban that detains, beats and executes women who dare to speak out or break their rules.

Through its system of gender apartheid, the Taliban have erased women and girls from public life. Europe must not legitimise a regime responsible for one of the worst human rights crises in the world.

Any engagement with the Taliban must begin and end with the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Iranian authorities have sentenced singer Parastoo Ahmadi to a punishment of 74 lashes for performing in a YouTube video that has racked up 2.9 million views over the last two years. Ahmadi sang the well-known patriotic song From the Blood of the Youth to an empty theater space in 2024 with the help of eight musicians and crew. They have also been sentenced to flogging, a travel ban, and a prohibition on any "artistic activities" for the next two years. Ahmadi was accused of "offending public decency" after she performed without a hijab, the head covering mandated by Iranian morality police. @RadioFarda_

Hier seht ihr ein Bild meiner damals 10 Jährigen Schwester, das ich während ihres Urlaubs im Libanon bekommen habe. Es wurde eine Feier für sie geschmissen, weil sie sich dazu entschieden haben soll den Hijab zu tragen.

Ich fragte sie warum sie diese Entscheidung getroffen hat. Sie sagte, weil sie nicht von Männern belästigt und vergewaltigt werden möchte. Man hat ihr nämlich eingeredet, dass es sonst passieren würde. Außerdem möchte sie keine ewigen Höllenqualen erleiden. Das ist nämlich der Plan vom achso barmherzigen Allah. Dich als Mädchen zu foltern, wenn du dich nicht verhüllst.

Muslime würden sagen, sie will es doch tragen. Sie gehen nicht auf diese wirklich bösartige Indoktrination ein. Es ist nicht nur ihre Geschichte, sondern meine und anderer tausender Mädchen und Frauen.
Das ist die Ideologie aus dem Islam: jungen Mädchen Scham, Verhüllung, Verunsicherung, Täter-Opfer-Umkehr und Gehorsamkeit beizubringen. Wenn ich darüber reflektiere, was das schlimmste am Islam ist, sind es die Werte: Selbsthass.
Es ist nämlich nicht nur ein Stück Stoff.

Fallece Raquel Estúñiga, paciente de ELA (Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica) y fiel defensora de los derechos de las personas con discapacidad.

Desde FAMMA-Cocemfe Madrid han informado sobre la triste noticia del fallecimiento de Raquel Estúñiga, una persona "adicta a la vida" que tuvo que convivir durante sus últimos años con una enfermedad como la ELA.

"Hoy el corazón de todos los que formamos FAMMA-Cocemfe Madrid está roto por el fallecimiento de Raquel Estúñiga, una paciente de ELA muy amiga de la casa", han informado desde la mencionada Federación.

Durante su vida y, especialmente tras recibir el diagnóstico de ELA, Raquel mostró un férreo compromiso sobre la defensa de los derechos de las personas con discapacidad. Además, también llevó a cabo un importante activismo por la ELA.

En una de sus últimas entrevistas, con los compañeros de 'Antena 3', Raquel Estúñiga confesaba que "si hay algo con lo que me siento realmente orgullosa y realizada es ayudando a otras personas que sufren ELA".

A pesar de los momentos complejos que le deparó la vida, Raquel nunca perdió su sonrisa ni sus ganas de vivir. Ha sido un ejemplo de fuerza, coraje y vitalidad. Una gran mujer que deja un legado sobre cómo afrontar la vida ante una enfermedad como la ELA.
