Dr. Manmohan Singh was a fine statesman with a spiritual leaning, a kind heart, and a resolute mind. At his behest, I joined the Amarnath Shrine Board and had the opportunity to interact with him on multiple occasions. He will be fondly remembered for his gentle and humble demeanor.
Celebration with a touch of sacredness has more depth. It takes you from the realm of analysis and thinking into the space of devotion and joy.

#WATCH | Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar delivers a keynote address at the inaugural session of the first-ever World Meditation Day at the United Nations headquarters, in New York.
He says "Today, meditation is not a luxury as it was thought, but it is a necessity. I would call it mental hygiene. Like you have dental hygiene, we have mental hygiene wherein meditation can help us to be more centred and away from aggression and depression. The mental health crisis has taken a big toll on our population. On one side, our young population is undergoing such aggressive behaviour. On the other side, there is depression. Meditation helps us to be more centred. It brings us sensitivity and sensibility at the same time. The two important factors of any civilized society. We need to be sensitive towards ourselves, towards fellow being and also for the environment. Meditation makes us more conscious about our environment, and conscious about the feelings of people around us. It helps us to stay away from those antisocial activities which would harm oneself and others..."

Election is the very soul of any democracy. The freedom to criticize, engage in rhetoric, and even mudslinging is inherent to the electoral process. Though contentious, it can strengthen democracy. Yet, considering its impact on governance, economy, and society, ‘One Nation, One Election’ stands out as the most logical and beneficial solution for India. With a single, synchronized election, leaders will have ample time to focus on development and fulfilling mandates instead of constant election cycles. It will also empower voters to make informed choices.
