Trump says TWO dumb things here: “We're gonna cut off all trade with Spain, we don't want anything to do with Spain."

Then, “Spain said we can’t use their bases… We can use their bases. If we want we can just fly in and use it. Nobody’s gonna tell us not to use it.”

That second statement, way to tell every other country in the world to not let the US build more bases in their countries cause once we're in, we'll just do whatever we want and ignore your sovereignty. If I'm Spain, I'm evicting all the troops and saying "come back when your leader is sane." Dude is literally trying to claim once we have presence somewhere, another nation loses its autonomy.

The first statement is the super dumb one, though: Spain is part of the EU. They negotiate as one entity. Trump has no means to "cut off all trade" with an individual EU nation.
