@Martrid @ShaunLintern@ShelaghFogarty This! Don’t know about the figures, but the amount of new villages and extensions to towns going up in my area is ridiculous. I can’t speak for other organisations even other NHS one’s, but there certainly hasn’t been an increase in ambulance cover.
@EM_RESUS Dr Ghali. Given the history, sex and age of the patient as well as Wellens on initial ECG wouldn’t this patient benefit by being seen at the PPCI anyway. I only ask as I would want to be making a phone call to the Lab if this was a patient I was dispatched to.
@tjmoore @Coliboo @Adam_dot_P @dfraindesign @NoContextBrits The bell is for the benefit of pedestrians, who are just as vulnerable as cyclists if there is a collision. The helmet may save your life and benefits the driver as they may not have to live with the fact that you are now a vegetable or dead.
@FLTDOC1 I’m sure that I read one of the procedures to stop damaged batteries from reigniting was to get a skip/dumpster full of water and leave it there for a week.
@simontutt88 @robsmithjersey@NGParkes83@LeeMcLaren11 I expect there to be some overlap, but it now appears to completely dominate how the money is spent. There is money for ECP’s but none for CCP’s.
@HeedDoc @MLMC37211431 Totally agree with you Doc, analgesia would be the reason I would be referring to someone such as yourself. Hopefully this would stop them either having an accidental Paracetamol OD or deploying the pliers.
@MLMC37211431 @HeedDoc You’ve answered the question Emma, there is not enough NHS dentists and this is probably because there is not a great deal of money in it. Due to this and the amount that a private dentist will cost especially when OOH, demand will increase on those who do remain in the NHS.
@MLMC37211431 @HeedDoc Prescribed analgesia or antibiotics may be required. Dental pain can be extreme and some times over the counter medications aren’t going to be enough.
@IainOdhams @ParamedicsUK I know it been done before and never really took off, but if you look at what % the ambulance service makes up of Unison etc are voice will never be heard. Ambulance staff (especially Paramedic’s) have the potential to hit well above their weight with the right gloves on.
@robsmithjersey@NGParkes83@LeeMcLaren11 The ambulance service has also gone down the route of being a defacto primary care provider as we are there 24/7 and a lot cheaper for the CCG’s than GP’s and they pay the bills.
Plus we now live in society who wants everything sorted now and that’s us.
@robsmithjersey@NGParkes83@LeeMcLaren11 Unfortunately the other two services have a duty of care to the wider public, whilst we being a part of the NHS have a duty to the individual seeking assistance. Due to this we will never get the demand down enough for training to be a regular thing.
