If you're a U.S. citizen and you're living abroad, you have to file taxes on your income. Doesn't matter where it's from. And if you want exclusions or credits, you still have to file. (This is the #1 reason why departing Americans renounce their citizenship.)

The IRS should be mining foreign countries looking for "anchor babies" and other citizens who aren't filing. Instead of obsessing about whether your grandma reported her Etsy knitting earnings, they should be focused on this.

And then you can give them a choice: renounce your citizenship or pay back taxes on everything you owed, including penalties.

California’s new packaging law recently went into effect and farmers are saying they won’t be able to adapt and food will end up being wasted or spoiling

The law is SB 54, ‘The Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act’

“Groceries in California are about to get more expensive, and in some cases, your favorite fresh produce may not be there at all. — For fresh produce, packaging isn't optional. Plastic helps keep food safe, fresh, and from going to waste — Look, we all want more sustainable packaging, but for everyday items like berries, bagged salads, ready-to-eat produce, there aren't real scalable alternatives yet. And it could take 5 to 10 years to get there, or longer”

“So when mandates move faster than technology, prices go up, shelf life drops, and some products just won't pencil out”

Here’s what the new law mandates, SB 54 Requires by 2032:

- 25% reduction in single-use plastic packaging and food service ware by weight
- 100% of single-use packaging and plastic food service ware must be recyclable or compostable.
- 65% recycling rate for the remaining single-use plastic packaging

Producers, brands, manufacturers must join a Producer Responsibility Organization and pay fees. This is including $500 million per year to a state fund for pollution mitigation and cleanup, totaling $5 billion over 10 years), and fund collection and recycling infrastructure

A high volume real estate agent in Texas named Ram Konara is selling almost exclusively to Indian and H-1B buyers

In the past few years the realtor has allegedly sold 1,761 homes

This would be almost impossible for one agent, think of the math

Not to mention, this is illegal and I’ll go over why

He’s promoting in ethnicity specific communities and getting promotions from some builders for bringing South Asian buyers.

This is discriminatory practices under Texas Real Estate Commission Rule 531.19, which prohibits marketing or disclosures based on race and national origin

But it doesn’t stop there, he’s scamming other realtors and using race loyalty with foreigners being imported

Here’s what I found he does

The buyers are reportedly told to find homes themselves, tour with other listing agents, then switch to Konara to write the contract

He then rebates most of his commission back to them, only keeping $1,000. This is framed as a “great deal” for buyers but criticized what’s really happening is he is free-riding on other agents’ time and effort

All foreigners do is find ways to scam in America. It literally never ends
