The Monroe Police have issued a Silver Alert for Melody Russell. She is 73 years old and was last seen leaving her home on foot around 12:30 this morning in the Pastors Walk area of town. She was wearing blue pants a blue tee shirt.If seen, call 203 261 3622.

The Town of Monroe has a parking ban in effect due to the expected snow accumulation. Please keep your cars and trailers off the road so Public Works can clean the streets. Thanks and be safe!

Route 25 is now open in both directions.

Rt25 in Monroe is closed due to flooding. Vehicles driving through the area are spreading the water which freezes and causes a large stretch of ice. The state has been sanding without success. A Detour has been established using old Newtown Road. Morning commute will be effected

The scheduled weekend road closure of Route 25 has been postponed due to weather. The new date will be August 10 through August 13

Route 111 in the area of 1200 will be temporarily closed due to a large tree taking out several utility lines. Temporary detours are being set up.

Old Zoar Rd has been been established as a temporary detour around the closure

Eversource confirmed units are responding to evaluate the situation
