‘10th Anniversary’ MONSTA X to Make Full-Group Comeback on the 14th: “Songs from the military hiatus now in all six members’ voices”

Group MONSTA X (Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M) is finally making a comeback as a full group.

On May 5, their agency, Starship Entertainment, announced through MONSTA X’s official channels that the group will release a digital album titled NOW PROJECT vol.1. A “coming soon” teaser image was also revealed.

According to the teaser, MONSTA X will drop the digital album NOW PROJECT vol.1 on May 14 at 12 PM KST, the exact date of their 10th debut anniversary, via various music platforms.

The “NOW” in NOW PROJECT vol.1 not only means “the present,” but also cleverly reverses “MON,” a part of the group’s name, symbolizing MONSTA X’s current identity and moment in time. The album will include a total of 10 tracks, featuring title and side tracks released between 2021 and 2023.

To commemorate their 10th anniversary, MONSTA X plans to re-record music originally released during the military hiatus — when some members were absent — now with all six members’ voices, offering a heartfelt gift to Monbebe (the official fandom).

This album isn’t just a commemorative release; it marks the first chapter in rewriting their history in the present tense — proving MONSTA X’s ongoing presence on stage, in music, and with their fans. By reinterpreting songs that once represented past eras, the group aims to convey emotions and messages that still resonate now, continuing their journey not as a repetition of the past, but as a living, evolving story.

MONSTA X debuted on May 14, 2015, with their 1st mini album TRESPASS. With powerful choreography and unique concepts, they carved out a one-of-a-kind niche in the K-pop scene and earned a reputation for music only MONSTA X could deliver, steadily building a global fandom.

Their strong vocals, rap skills, and intense performances — combined with unwavering live talent and expert stage control — earned them the nickname “Trustworthy Performance Masters” (믿듣퍼). They’ve been highly sought after for festivals and concerts. Notably, they became the first K-pop group to participate in the U.S. iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour in 2018, and returned in 2019 and 2021 — a rare feat.

Starting with leader Shownu in 2021, all members except the youngest, I.M, enlisted for military service, entering a full-group hiatus. Still, MONSTA X’s journey didn’t stop. The remaining members kept the team going with solo and unit activities, drawing in new fans during the “military hiatus era” and maintaining the group’s presence so they could reunite seamlessly.

Recently, all five members except Hyungwon (still serving) appeared in their self-produced reality content “MonMukGo” on the official YouTube channel, further building anticipation for the full reunion.

Well-known for their deep love for fans — even earning the nickname “Monsujong X” (a mix of MONSTA X and Korea’s famously loving actor Choi Soo-jong) — the group has constantly shown affection for Monbebe. In December, Shownu, Minhyuk, and I.M treated fans to a coffee truck event to celebrate the launch of their own reality show MonMukGo: Three Brothers. After their discharge, Minhyuk, Kihyun, and Joohoney held free fan events to express heartfelt gratitude to Monbebe for waiting.

With Hyungwon completing his service on May 13, MONSTA X will finally reunite as a full six-member group. The next day, on May 14, they will release NOW PROJECT vol.1, marking the beginning of a new chapter while celebrating their 10-year journey together.

As both MONSTA X and Monbebe approach this meaningful reunion and milestone, fans are eagerly anticipating the new charm and energy these six voices will bring.
