This is a random number generator. Watch what happens when you turn it.
Much scientific computing ran on this generator for over a decade.
New CoRecursive episode is coming, all about randomness ... but its not ready yet.
Ghostty (and libghostty!) now has a 100% complete implementation of the Kitty Graphics Protocol. We support every feature, every option. We are the first terminal beyond Kitty to do this.
Most terminals stop at basic image placements, then give up on the long tail of other features. Ghostty covers all of them:
- Unicode placeholders (so it works in tmux)
- Relative placements (so images can be positioned relative to other images)
- Animation
- Scroll region handling (so images scroll properly with terminal scroll regions)
- All transport mediums: shared memory, temp files, etc.
- etc...
All of these features don't impact steady-state use (CPU or memory, besides raw code size). And for libghostty consumers, you can use the compile-time features flags to disable them completely.
I read the spec myself a hundred times. I read Kitty's source code to validate behaviors (our implementation is markedly different, so no GPL violation).
I also utilized agents, primarily for validation. I spun Fable and Sol in a loop for 3 weeks (pausing only when their dedicated subs exhausted limits) with a prompt to find mismatches between the spec, Kitty's reference implementation, and Ghostty.
And now we're done. Ghostty is the most compliant Kitty Graphics implementation (ignoring Kitty itself of course). And, this is all in libghostty, so now everyone can be perfectly compliant.
I convinced myself to migrate off of oh-my-zsh. It was a valuable learning experience, but learned that #OhMyZsh is also valuable

I just (re)discovered that in 2013 I supported 𝘛𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘫𝘶𝘳𝘦 on Indiegogo with a small amount. The project intrigued me, but never really got to do much Clojure - but I see the project still is very active. Kudos to Ambrose Bonnaire-Sergeant & Co 🏆

I replied to a coworker that blocked by a bug. Coworker responded with a face emoji that gives the finger... but which finger? Hard to see in Teams 🧐

Gleam's sponsor count has dropped this month. Sponsorship is how I pay my bills, and the majority of it comes from individuals giving a few dollars a month.
If you appreciate Gleam and can afford it please consider sponsoring the project, thank you 💜

"from -20 (most favorable scheduling) to 19 (least favorable)"
Hmm, is it favoring the system or the specified process? 🤷
`man nice`:

In KDE I had a weird issue of gvim (and only gvim) not popping to the front of the window deck 🤔 I bypassed it by making a special window rule ✅

I just saw @tomdelalande_ comparing ten programming languages in a very informative and entertaining short video. Great job 👍
My favorite language Gleam, gets a special comment that I can relate to 😄 (https://t.co/WMUpmoZE9x)

The arrogance from Amazon 🤪 The product cannot be delivered to my country. Are they really suggesting that I move to another country, to get my 10€ gadget? 😅

Jefferson Scher (jscher2000) has made two of my favorite Firefox tools
✪ "Switch To Previous Active Tab" - jump from a list of last used tabs
✪ "Session History Scrounger" - recover session files, when Firefox has borked the session

Is the snap edition of Firefox not permitting you to read your local rust-doc? It is because `file://` is restricted on dot directories, and the rust-docs are located in `~/.rustup/`. A symlink will not work, but a binding mount will

Kan du huske hæveautomaten på Christiania, som åbenlyst blev brugt til hvidvask, men politiet ikke kunne fjerne, for det var lovligt?
@informeren har fundet den igen. Og mange andre i Danmark.
