@ParkerWarker@Wayne_midlife@bluebirdk7 I would have left out 'show' as there wasn't one. Simple 'Shit festival' would be a more fitting and accurate description.
@bluebirdk7 So the canopy stays in place by air pressure forcing it down and back? There's a roller on the front to allow it to slide onto the foredeck. Does it just sit on the side or hook under the runners? I personally think the latch excuses was to save more embarrassment!
@HatsPeriod@bluebirdk7 "Bluebird K7 the festival" What it lacked was K7. I was there on Saturday and the whole atmosphere was flat. Disappointed people waiting around for hours then called off due to a faulry latch? Really? I thought the current engineering team kept aircraft in the sky!
@bluebirdk7 We all want to see K7 performing at her best. Authentic on the button HP start, up on the plane skimming across Coniston! What timescale do you think to get K7 back to this standard?
@bluebirdk7 BBP was completely transparent and documented every step of the restoration and successful runs on Bute. That's all recorded in the history books. With the RM it's all done behind closed doors, in a tent or on pontoon out of view. Very sad chapter in K7s history π’
@the_real_nick_b@bluebirdk7 Shocking insight to the vandalism done to K7. In 220 days it will be 60 years since DCs final run. K7 in its current condition is an insult to the great man and the volunteers that restored her. K7 needs immediate removal from the RM and putting back to 1967 condition and run.
@novie03509937@bluebirdk7 When I was there on Saturday K7 was sat on the slipway with the canopy removed after the aborted morning run. The canopy was put back on just before launching in the afternoon. Then the run was aborted due to the bent latch.
@bluebirdk7 Any pictures available of the current engine installation? I guess the RMs (robbing museum) engineering brief was get it making some noise and blowing warm air out the back?
@bluebirdk7 Disappointed I didnt get to see K3 run on Saturday. It wasn't even outside on public display - tucked away at the back end of the workshop tent. It would have been nice to have a public walkway internally through the workshop tent to see K3 and K7 being worked on.
@bluebirdk7 Imagine that, restoring an iconic piece of British engineering history, out performing in its natural environment to inspire future generations. π€
@HatsPeriod@bluebirdk7 High pressure onboard air tanks. BBP started K7 on Bute with off board HP air so the sound was authentic and later developed a fully integrated HP start system..
