@MarielleBelle1 you’re crazy, go touch some grass and take your meds, you’re the reason taylor is hated so much because some fans can’t be normal. what you’re saying here is worrying, please
why are people so obsessed with saying someone stole/copied a song 😭 they’re hearing a similar rhythm and think it’s plagiarism. they usually expose themselves by how little their musical knowledge is
maybe the execution isn’t the best, but not being open to the idea of it being part of the narrative storytelling instead of thinking she’s a bad songwriter would be stupid. she proved her skills for 20 years, she might be playing here
you don’t have to like it, but i think in the patient zero bridge taylor is actually experimenting with the form. the chorus and verses are quite robotic, a clear rhythm. then the realisation hits and it’s all too much, such as the syllables. i think there’s a point to it
making me, a single millennial childless (and car-less) woman, cry over “it’s bedtime but you’re sitting in your car, you’re missing all the best parts” is some kind of crazy magic
a reaction is what is wanted, it’s interaction bait. not more and not less. you can be triggered by another nobody not liking taylor, the clever move would be to ignore them. but parasocial instincts to defend her are activated, which i understand. but maybe just let it go
culture evolves around taylor, she’s the litmus test for everyone who participates. do you relate or distinct yourself from her? that’s part of the self definition for artists today. mentioning her gets anyone attention.thats the reason why so many people are annoyed by her
@cryeyesviolet_ popculture turns around taylor, if people want it or not, everything is contextualised by her, mentioning her brings traction and attention. it’s marketing and the personal urge to either connect yourself or distinct yourself from it.
go read the bible if u wanna read the bible. the point of using christian motifs in fantasy isn’t to explain kids that jesus was a lion (?) but to teach them to have morals, to care about others and fight for the weaker. not whining in the comments about a woman voicing aslan
@devmellowed@nintenceI it’s such a weird expectation to have, as if everything they say in songs is either completely literal or can’t have a layer to it. the lack of being able to interpret a song as baffling
@calix1603 calling that specific case of seeing someone at a bar bc of location sharing as stalking is also a bit of a stretch. it’s weird if it becomes a habit, but this song feels pretty much like first time realising that it’s still active and seeing where they are
