The artificially low wages also deter people from these degrees, this is facilitated by opposition to striking mostly from overseas hires. It also means they are moving away.

The wages are kept at a insultingly low level because the cheaper labour is forcing the UK trained (not born!) professionals to look elsewhere.

The NHS would survive, and professionals would have more say in their pay via unions.
