P/S: forgot to mention, but it’s also nice to just be able to jump in and play the cool indie games right away instead of waiting for an hour minimum just to jam for 10-15 minutes like the big booths. :D it’s what kept me seated.
I overheard a few seasoned vets saying “This is not “gamescom” anymore. This is just … flashing lights and a bunch of corporation.” This is true …. If all you go to is corporate / big AAA studio booths. The real magic of #gamescom for me lies in Hall 10. (1/?)
If Indie Arena keeps expanding in a positive direction, I will visit gamescom annually. . My gamescom adventure is far from over, and this is not my first indie arena visit. Still floored every year. Final pic is the cute Schrödinger’s cat.
It’s not easy to land a spot here as indie devs in the biggest gaming con in the world (?) when Steam puts out 100 a day on average. Yet they tried anyway. Yes it prob means having some finance and publisher deals. But it also means these themselves have *sth* special. (2/?)
@a_erdem4 Studying CS/ SWE for researches and medicine pays off tons, but just average jobbing feels so uninteresting to me too. Currently one hand on moneymaking one hand on some creative stuff (gamedev, 3d/rigging)
@rdrisms A 'simple' solution would be to have a toggle. For freaks to spreadsheet it out with actual numbers. Meanwhile everyone else has the 'simple' version that's exactly like right now.
@bellapawesborne Bro described final Forsaken prog like he actually progressed through it in an alternate dimension where he did play through Kefka savage in Stormblood.
