It is so ridiculous but does anyone else hate it when someone uses thier instagram or netflix and messes up their algorithm? Like I only want to be influenced and manipulated by my own algortihm please. #unboundeq
This article is shocking and another example of how algorithms can make horrible mistakes. Technology can be great but we can't forget that there are real live humans affected by the technology we create and use. #unboundeq

A4. As an educator I find the algorithmic bias very dangerous and potentially damaging to students. Young students are very susceptible and a bad algorithm could shown them very negative images and advertisments. students should be better protected. #unboundeq
The new jim code video was informative and I can't belive some of the real life incidents of algorithm bias. The example of people with darker skin tones not being recognized by computer cameras was really shocking. Can't belive that still happens in a modern world. #unboundeq
A3. Facebook defintively shapes my behaviour but I find one way it shapes me is a positive. Birthday reminders always help me because I often forget them! Facebook assumes we loose track of our friends birthdays and for me that is true. #unboundeq
@andreaparr1996 This is such an issue with snapchat! I love using it but I feel like real communication can be lost on this platform! There is such silly pressure to maintain streaks that people forgot they started because it was a persone you genuinly liked talked to! #unboundeq
A2. Honestly I found it insane that hiring programs have such bias. The fact that a certain gender or race won't get hired because the hiring AI has bias is so wrong. That needs to be changed asap. #unboundeq
@MitchD58505609 I found it shocking in the new jim code video how creators 'default discrimination' can be implimented into techonology and AI software. Even when it is unintentional bias is still out there! #unboundeq
Anyone else new on twitter and getting a ton of notifications about the american election? I'm canadian and don't follow the preseidential debates. Any guesses why that would be an algorithm on my feed? #unboundeq
A1. I find that a lot of my instagram algorithms are encourgaing me to spend money. There are adds for clothes and jewelry constantly on my account even tho I rarely online shop. They are likely encouraging the bias that a young female wants to shop. #unboundeq
The New Jim Code video really opened my eyes on the false image of neutrality. I feel naive thinking that most of what I see is neutral, clearly I need to further analyze my social media and the advertisements around me! #unboundeq
Wow learning about algorithms and on twitter for the first time, I am shocked by how many adds are already being thrown at me. It's interesting to see a new social media app try to find your algorithm. Can we use algorithms to our advantage? #unboundeq https://t.co/gujh8K3icV
@SomeDieu I feel like I get tricked or sucked into the black hole of the internet. Netflix and youtube give you about 5 seconds to leave before they supply you with another video. I use websites like this to try and detox. #unboundeq

@SimonTesloth I think some technology can be good and a great way to connect with people around the world! Here are some reasons to love instagram! #unboundeq https://t.co/vtHFtwss4c
@c_montpetit@RealCdnSS I have this problem too! I had to google a few groceries stores last weekend while looking for a specific ingredient for a recipe. Now I keep getting coupon adds from grocery stores I never even shop at! It is so freaky how your phone tracks all of this! #unboundeq
