Help Moon purchase disability aids https://t.co/p139tGdBuq
An update to my go fund me as the move became impossible at this point. I'm trying to find money for disability aids so I can get to the point where a move is possible.
@LShalott New peanuts slipper socks from my mom. I wasn't up for taking a picture of my face because I've been very sick on top of already dealing with chronic illness and sensory processing disorder.
@hea_rea_@theatricalmama That sounds like it would be great! I also use candles and essential oils in a diffuser to help relax. If he is old enough you could take him to the store so he could pick out candles. If you don't want lit candles you can get a warming plate.
@hea_rea_@theatricalmama Also having lights that change color and brightness has made a massive impact. I find green, blue, and red to be very calming where as yellow and purple are more calming. The biggest thing is that every person is different. It's going to take a lot of trial and error
@theatricalmama Oh my, that is a big challenge! Depending on how large your home is maybe have the bedroom be a sensory avoidant place and a play room or some such be where all the sensory engagement happens? This way when the older is overwhelmed there's a peaceful space to decompress?
@RRollplaying I have a halfling barbarian who uses a huge mallet that is twice their size. I didn't think about the fact that they could throw it...I have ideas now
That chronically ill person you know has probably never answered a "how are you" honestly. They probably told you "it is what it is", laughed and trivialised their pain because their real answer was long, traumatising and intense and they didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
In some cases, depression is actually a trauma response.
When we continuously freeze in response to an โalarm,โ we invoke our parasympathetic nervous system in a way that isnโt adaptive.
We shut down to survive.
With trauma-informed healing, depression lifts
Im just gonna put some thoughts out there.
Intersectionality is important in the ttrpg space. In no way does calling for more femme presenting presence encroach on anyone's spaces.
Nor does being called out for it make you a terrible person.
