Protests in the capital get all the attention, but when students in Manipur protested, they were met with Pellet Guns.
Brutal force was used to suppress their protest.
You don't care because it happened in the periphery, until it hits close to home

Accountability is a word not found in the Government of India's dictionary under the present BJP leadership…
It’s not only about NEET and question leaks but also about numerous issues: electoral bonds, the PM CARES Fund, the tragedy of Demonetisation and the Covid fiasco, including the Covishield vaccine controversy…This is in addition to the general abuse and subversion of institutions, including the basic mechanisms of the legislative oversight function under the parliamentary system.
Far from the cosmopolitan gaze, amidst these “national” issues, like the invisible provincial tragedies of the distant colonies of the European empires of yesteryears, Manipur, my home state, has been reeling under an unprecedented tragedy for more than three years.
Today, as I witness the tear gas and lathi charges right in the heart of Delhi, I can’t help but think of the blown-off shoulder and pellet-ridden heads of protesting young students as they face tear gas and pellet guns in Imphal during the present crisis in Manipur…And of course, those mutilated and bruised bodies, burnt down villages and residential complexes, life of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the wretched condition of the so-called “relief camps”, pathetic conduct and bankruptcy of the political class, and the incompetence and failures of the security establishments, including units of the powerful Indian army, under whose nose, hundreds of people have been killed, thousands of houses burnt down and villages emptied of their inhabitants… There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY for all these criminal acts and negligence.
And the PARLIAMENT of the largest democracy doesn’t have time for any discussion on this tragedy…Let alone fixing accountability, to make the tragedy visible itself is a struggle; to recognise it as a tragedy of a “constituent state” of the UNION, if not a “national issue”!
Unthinkable, and unconstitutional as it is, people are still not able to move freely in the state or get access to the “national” highways, as they are being denied access, or there is no security for them to get access to these highways because they belong to this or that community (as if Article 15, Article 19 are not for the people of the state).
And just as they cannot get access to roads, air travel becomes a necessity. Airlines have been milking these helpless people by hiking prices, and when elected members like me have approached the ministry and other officials, they say these are “private airlines” driven by demand and supply, and hence the Government cannot impose a “fare cap,” etc.
And lo! When the Indigo crisis hit the “national mainstream”. The Government of India imposed a “fare cap” to stop the airlines from exploiting the situation by manipulating the fare hike!
But one day, hopefully, accountability will be heard, and the reality that postcolonial scholars talk about, namely, the continuity of the colonial in the postcolonial, will also finally come to an end! "Vande Mataram”, "Ima Leipakna Yaiphare"!

📢💥"Save Manipur" from Kuki terrorists and separatists.
One interesting comment read that the boy holding the tricolour and chanting "Save Manipur" is a Sikkimese. A Sikh steps forward syncing in with the slogan.
Support one another to bring changes.

India witnessed a glimpse of what Manipur has been enduring for three years.
It's hard to live with uncertainty, fear and silence.
Manipur is not asking for sympathy.
Manipur is asking to be heard .

This man Mr Amrendra Sharma is blatantly fabricating lies in front of the media.
The statement, "Hamare bete ki pasand hamari pasand thi," is difficult to accept for anyone who is aware of the history of Shubham and Shreya's relationship.
Many people close to them know that Shubham's family was never supportive of this relationship. They did not want him to marry Shreya, but Shubham loved her and stood by his decision. The reality was very different from the picture now being presented to the media.
In November 2024, when both families met in Vadodra, In Shubham's absence and without his knowledge, his family demands for 30 lakhs cash, gold worth 50 lakhs and other items were allegedly made from Shreya's family.
This created significant tension between the families and led to a major dispute. Those who know what happened also know that Shubham repeatedly apologized to Shreya's family for the conduct of his own parents over and over again.
What is even more heartbreaking is the timing. A son who served the nation and lost his life deserves honesty, dignity, and respect. It has barely been days, yet instead of preserving his memory and respecting the woman he chose to spend his life with, there appears to be a public campaign to discredit her and reshape the story.
Public sympathy should never be used as a shield against accountability, and no amount of media attention can change what those directly involved witnessed and experienced.

@themightyinvok Paisa milte hi baap khush ho gaya kal tak toh badi dikkat thi iss ko, 21 lakhs leke gayi yad hai pura pura per SBI se kitne mile vo nahi pta jab ki cheque mai bold mai likha hai
As someone who personally knows both of them, I have been deeply disturbed by the narrative being pushed in the media regarding Late Flt Lt Shubham Kumar's wife, Shreya Rai.
Some facts need to be highlighted:
1. The marriage was not a secret.
- Shubham and Shreya legally married in February 2026. Both families were aware of the court marriage. A traditional wedding ceremony was planned for November 2026. It was later postponed due to bereavements in both families.
2. The claim that Mr Amrendra Sharma did not know about the marriage raises serious questions.
- If the marriage was truly hidden, why were both families preparing for a traditional wedding? His family never wanted their son to marry Shreya. Publicly portraying a fallen officer as someone who deceived his own parents is unfair to a man who is no longer alive to defend himself.
3. Shreya was denied basic dignity during her grief.
- She reportedly received a call from his mother on 13 June requesting that she not attend the cremation. Imagine losing your husband and then being asked by his family not to come and see him one last time. No grieving wife should have to face that. Guess what? Now she is paying the consequences for not listening to his family request.
4. False information about Shreya was allowed to spread.
- The media was repeatedly told that Shubham was unmarried or only engaged by his family initially. They tried to hide the marriage out of societal norms. Because the family did not want the society to know they married in court before the traditional ceremony.
His family falsely claimed that his fiance was also Flt lt in the Air Force. As per their claim if they knew their son wanted to marry Shreya Rai, then why spread false information about her?
The attempt to protect social image should never outweigh basic humanity and compassion.

In my previous post, I pointed out that false information regarding Late Flt Lt Shubham Kumar's wife Shreya Rai was circulated.
What raises serious questions is the contradictions in the family's statements shown in both the videos.
Initially, before the cremation of late Flt Lt Shubham Kumar, family members reportedly told the media that his fiancée was also a Flying Lieutenant in the Air Force. Later, when the controversy regarding the ₹21 lakh cheque surfaced, a completely different narrative began to emerge.
What is difficult to understand is this: if the family knew so many details about Shreya — that she was from Azamgarh and other personal details shown in the video below — how is it possible that they were unaware of her actual profession?
It is hard to believe that a family would know such extensive information about a woman who was engaged to their son, yet somehow not know what she did for a living? That explanation simply does not pass the test of common sense.
It is a deliberate attempt to present a different image of the relationship and keep the marriage out of public discussion until the dispute over the ₹21 lakh payment came into focus.
