I’m not fully confident the public understands that we are short THOUSANDS of teachers in #BCPoli. Schools are short teachers on call daily, sometimes 5+ teachers per school in a single day. There are “teachers” teaching with NO experience or training this is a big issue. #bced
Sometimes I abandon sewing projects I've lost interest in or don't like the way they're turning out. So in Textiles Studies I encourage but don't require students to finish their projects. I assess process not product.

I came out in stages, as a bi teen and then a gay adult. None of it was easy or well-received. I'm happy and well-adjusted now, but not everyone has a coming out story they want to share and no one owes you there's.

So let me get this straight: the Vancouver Food Bank has to pay over $100,000 in annual property taxes but elite, exclusive private schools with the sweeping country-club-like lawns don’t pay anything? That’s messed up. #vanpoli#bcpoli#bced
A thread on the Families Code and referendum in Cuba. This is a comprehensive piece of legislation, widely described as being one of the most progressive in the world.
@wyvernfriend As a Home Economics teacher, I would caution you about the sewing machine. We get our whole set serviced every year and there are usually 2 or 3 that need full repairs. That's with students who are being taught how to use them. Something to keep in mind
@lifelonglit Interested in this too. As someone with hypermobility disorder, sitting on the floor is/was very awkward for me and made it difficult for me to sit still. Wondering what kinds of accommodations are made for students who can't sit on the floor
