Q: Kenapa memilih “Shut The Door” sebagai title track?

Young K:

aku menyerahkan sekitar 15 lagu, lalu lagu yang dipilih ditentukan melalui sistem penilaian (confirm system) milik jyp entertainment. aku benar-benar percaya pada sistem itu. sejujurnya, aku sama sekali tidak bisa menebak lagu mana yang akan terpilih.

malah, aku sempat berpikir, “bukankah “shut the door” ini terlalu personal?” jadi aku tidak menyangka lagu ini yang akan dipilih menjadi title track.

lagu ini benar-benar kutulis seperti menulis sebuah diary. mungkin ini salah satu lagu yang paling cepat kuselesaikan. sekitar 30 menit saja sudah selesai.

dan memang ini adalah kisah yang benar-benar terjadi.

karena sebagai “young k”, meskipun di antara orang-orang di sekitarku, aku tetap memiliki pekerjaan yang cukup spesial sebagai seorang artis. jadi terkadang ada jarak yang muncul, atau kesalahpahaman yang bisa terjadi.

bahkan aku pernah mengetahui kalau teman-temanku membicarakanku di belakang. (tertawa)

ya tentu saja aku terluka.

tapi akhirnya justru lagu ini yang dikonfirmasi menjadi title track.

entah kenapa, setelah itu hatiku malah terasa sedikit lega.

aku memperdengarkan lagu ini kepada mereka sambil menunjukkan liriknya, lalu berkata,

“berkat kalian, aku jadi bisa comeback.”

mereka langsung menangis sambil meminta maaf.

jadi sekarang semuanya sudah saling memaafkan, berdamai, dan kami kembali berteman dengan baik.

dan ini bukan tentang sesama artis.

ini benar-benar teman-temanku di kehidupan nyata.

kejadiannya juga belum lama. bahkan lagu ini kutulis keesokan harinya setelah semuanya terjadi.

makanya semua perasaan di lagu ini masih terasa sangat nyata.

aku benar-benar bersyukur. rasanya semua beban di hatiku akhirnya terlepas. (tertawa)

lucunya, saat itu title track bahkan belum diputuskan. baru setelahnya lagu ini dikonfirmasi menjadi title track.
