My book is free for a while.
Queer, angst-ridden-but-loveable incompetent detective messes everything up repeatedly. Lots of sex and swearing.

Just reading my book - I'm not sure it's like any other book. An incompetent detective story, but not a comedy. More like a tragedy. So much story, I keep forgetting what's about to happen. You're all missing out. 😀

@sebastian__mor I don't think you need to know what someone looks like to know who they are. And especially in a book (language - not pictures) it's pretty hard to convey. In a movie you know what someone looks like instantly.
@PRNDL I like to give/have a sense of what characters look like but it's vague - Josh is massive, not handsome but has a lovely smile, Cillian is small and 'looks like Bambi', Flora is 'one of those willowy ballet girls'. MC Marley: medium height, slim and muscular. That's all you get.
@Bbird_26 I don't think you can ever describe someone's appearance well enough in words that someone can visualise them exactly how you want, so I don't bother. I think the sense of the person is way more important, as well as being easier to convey.
@EurasKaryot That's a spoiler, but I doubt you're going to read the book so I'll tell you. His drug addict mother called him before killing herself, and he didn't answer the phone. He blames himself for her death.
