TMNT! Cowabunga!
Hatchling eastern chicken turtles start at just about 1 in. in diameter. As adults, the males of these totally radical (but no longer teenage) turtles grow up to about 6.5 in., while the females may grow to around 10 in.

We’ve got 18 reasons to celebrate! Our reptile team has just welcomed 18 Texas horned lizards, with more on the way! If all goes well, these little guys will be released into the wild this fall as part of a statewide effort to restore horned lizard populations.
🚨BIG FISH ALERT🚨
We caught our longest and 2nd heaviest #LakeSturgeon in the history of our stations #sturgeon survey work (dates back to 1996)! Length was 75.2 inches and weight was 125 pounds! After being measured and tagged the fish was released back into #LakeStClair.
It’s one of our favorite times of the year, Texas horned lizard-hatching season!
We’ve already had 135 hatchlings this year and are hopeful there will be even more!
