The District of Muskoka has declared a state of emergency in response to a severe ice storm that swept through the District from March 28 to 30, causing widespread power outages, downed trees and hydro lines, and hazardous road conditions.
⚠️ Stay home. Stay safe.
➡️ Residents are urged to stay home and off the roads. Many roads are blocked or reduced to one lane with crews reporting actively falling trees and live hydro lines.

ETOR: Could be as late as Thursday.
HydroOne says all their crews have been dispatched with some restoration times as late as noon tomorrow.
Lakeland power has no new info on restoration times.
Lakeland power has restored parts of Bracebridge, 3 more outages are still being worked on
Elexicon restoration times have been pushed back to 9:45-11:00pm
HydroOne has yet to provide specific restoration times but list 5pm for those surrounding Bracebridge

The District of Muskoka has declared a Significant Weather Event for all district roads effective immediately. Freezing rain & heavy snow are impacting road operations, residents are being asked to avoid non-essential travel on district roads till until further notice.
@SpruceGlenPS is currently under another hold and secure, due to bears on the property.
All students and staff are safe, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the OPP are on site.

A hold and secure is in place at Spruce Glen Public School after a bear was spotted in the playground.
