@clintieyeye@DolphinsMuse If we don’t trade Waddle then we don’t get to upgrade the CB position and are still stuck with Waddle’s massive contract which he will want to keep being paid top 5 receiver money. We were able to Chris Johnson, Chris Bell, and Trey Moore because of the trade.
@alltime_josh@OmarKelly He would have to average 1,779 yards for the next 3 seasons just to tie it. It will probably take about 4 seasons for him to break it.
@dirtyhouse530@SeamusMcRizzle@BBGreatMoments You’re comparing apples to oranges. Like trying to say Frank Thomas is a better hitter than Ozzie Smith. Ones a leadoff and ones a power hitter.
@dirtyhouse530@SeamusMcRizzle@BBGreatMoments That’s my actual opinion I’m not trying to bolster. I even used Messi as an example. You keep comparing Ichiro to power hitters by using stats like slugging percentage when you know he’s a pure contact hitter. Compare him to other pure contact hitters.
@dirtyhouse530@SeamusMcRizzle@BBGreatMoments I do actually, because Japan wouldn’t allow him to go to the MLB until he played 9 seasons in Japan. That puts him in a huge disadvantage when talking WAR
@dirtyhouse530@SeamusMcRizzle@BBGreatMoments You either have to take his average WAR multiple it by 2,3, or 4 (to kind of average it out for how many years he could have started on normal standards) and add that to his WAR or Calculate what everyone’s WAR is if they started at 27.
@dirtyhouse530@SeamusMcRizzle@BBGreatMoments You just proved my point his “unique approach doesn’t support metrics” because you have to factor in his base running. He hits a single and steals second on the next pitch. He’s now on second in scoring position.
