“I put ear drops in my eye.” 😭
Sounds like a joke… but it’s real. 👀
It happens more often than you think.
Ear drops and eye drops can look almost identical, and it’s easy to mix them up, especially when you're in a hurry.
⚠️ Eyes are much more sensitive than ears.
Using ear drops in the eye can cause burning and stinging.
What to do:
💧 Rinse the eye gently with lukewarm water for 5–10 minutes
📞 Then call for expert guidance at 1-800-222-1222, its free, confidential and 24/7.

🌿 Vanilla extract is a kitchen staple… but it may surprise you.
Baking extracts like vanilla or almond extract contain a high amount of alcohol. If a child drinks even a small amount, it can cause symptoms like sleepiness, confusion, or stomach upset.
Keep extracts out of reach and treat them like any other product that isn’t meant to be consumed directly.
If an exposure happens, don’t wait; get guidance right away.

🐝 Happy World Bee Day!
Bee stings are common, especially during warmer months.
Most cause mild reactions, such as redness, swelling, and itching, but some people may have more serious reactions.
If stung, remove the stinger by gently scraping it off with an object such as a credit card (do not squeeze) and clean the area with soap and water.

🐔 Meet our new Poison Prevention Pawtner: Cruella! 🐾
Cruella is an Australorp chicken with a big personality and an even greater sense of pride. Known for being friendly and a great egg-layer, she definitely lives up to her breed… and then some.
Her mom Abby, got her as a chick along with other breeds, but there was a little mix-up. Thinking she would grow up with black and white feathers, she was named after Cruella De Vil. When they realised the mistake… the name had already stuck. And honestly, it fits perfectly.
Cruella has some funny quirks. She isn’t afraid to chase the family cat if he gets too close, and she proudly announces every egg she lays with loud clucking like it’s the biggest achievement of the day.
If she could talk, the first thing she’d say would probably be: “Look at the egg I just laid!”
She loves mealworms, hanging out on the patio, and perching on the arm of her mom’s chair like she owns the place.
Help us welcome Cruella as our newest Poison Prevention Pawtner! 🐾💛
