Awesome talk by Abigail Pratt on cirrate distribution and their egg-coral associations. Good to see another cirrate lover presenting at @ciac2022! #ciac2022#cephalopods#cirrata
@octosheagmailc2 Thanks so much Steve! Hopefully you can read about it soon when it’s published. Nearly there…..just some issues with uploading data to GenBank that we are trying to sort out.
Starting the day with these superstars talking about Cephalopod Genetics and Evolution! Morag Taite, Brooke Whitelaw, Sally Lau and Oleg Simakov thank you! 🦑🐙🧬

We studied the evolution of bobtail and bottletail squid, with samples from different world' oceans. A great collaboration with @cefafalopodo@DrShmoo@moragtaite@Ferdix and others absent here. (6/1)
Until now, I only had the chance to examine a defrozen Octopoteuthis callipso (thanks @MartaAlboP). Thanks to @moragtaite today I've briefly measured 11 specimens of 5 species. This is how they look like on museum jars (some of them collected decades ago).
🚨Out now🚨 In situ recordings of large gelatinous spheres from NE Atlantic, and the first genetic confirmation of egg mass of Illex coindetii (Vérany, 1839) (Cephalopoda, Mollusca)
