Academia is fascinating coz even if you don't know that person, as long as you have similar interests your paths will cross again and again. You go to the reference page and see the names and you smile. You might never meet them, but you are bonding so deeply with their thoughts.
As a managing editor, 9 out of 10 times I receive submissions with wrong abstract format. I just unsubmit them and attach a sample for their reference and they resubmit, voilà! It was the 1st time someone got THAT mad at me 😂 when they clearly didn't review before resubmit.
U know some journals have strict abstract format to follow right? Many ppl forget to follow when submit works which is fine in the 1st round. But someone just couldn't send in the right version after 2 times and got super mad at me.😂But, ma'am u still didn't send the right one.

But anyway, being happy is a difficult thing for me. So this is a good start I guess. Hope this year will provide me with a healthy mindset. Also, I want to be more involved, if you're in England and have fun academic stuff, plz let me know. I want to learn. :)
I've been feeling happy since I came to England a week ago. Things were not working out well last academic yr and I had the strange expectation that coming here would solve all my problems. Turned out that maybe I just wanted to escape from real life responsibilities. 😂
I had this dream of studying in the UK when I was very young. I talked abt it and wrote abt it in my essays in middle school all the time. That's why all my friends were surprised when I "ended up" studying in the US for more than ten years 😂.
It's a little terrifying to think that I'll probably be in England in two months and stay there for a year. Can't believe it's been 19 years since I last visited the UK😂.
I've been seeing more and more "sh*thouses (厕)" accounts on Weibo recently, which are what I call "quasi-bots" run by ppl who accept and post anonymous submissions commenting on certain celebrities (I've mainly observed football sh*thouses tho). Is there any equivalence here?
