Yesterday, Monday 30th March, I returned to the North's Commercial nerve centre, Kano, on the invitation of my dear elder brother, Senator, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM, whose decision to join our party marks yet another significant step in the collective effort to rescue and rebuild our democracy and dear nation, Nigeria.

As I have consistently maintained, this is the time for all opposition forces and well-meaning Nigerians to set aside their differences and work together in unity of purpose.

Nigeria is at a critical stage in its history, one that demands sacrifice, courage, and selflessness from all of us. The challenges we face, economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and declining public trust, require more than rhetoric. They require deliberate collaboration, disciplined leadership, and a shared commitment to national progress.

We must move beyond the politics of division, ethnicity, religion, and region, and embrace the politics of competence, character, capacity, compassion, and commitment to a better Nigeria. The task before us is not about winning elections alone; it is about rebuilding institutions, restoring confidence in governance, and securing a better future for our children.

I therefore call on all members of the opposition, and indeed every patriotic Nigerian, to see this moment as a defining one. A moment that calls for unity over division, service over self, and nation over personal interest.

A balanced diet is key for fast growth, good feed conversion, and healthy birds. Below is a simple formulation farmers can use when mixing feed locally.

1. STARTER FEED – 25 kg (0–3 weeks)
Maize: 12 kg
Soybeans: 8.7 kg
Fish meal: 2.5 kg
Wheat bran: 1 kg
Limestone: 375 g
Bone meal: 125 g
Vitamin & mineral premix: 125 g
Salt: 125 g

2. GROWER FEED – 25 kg (4–5 weeks)
Maize: 14 kg
Soybeans: 7 kg
Fish meal: 1.75 kg
Wheat bran: 1.25 kg
Limestone: 375 g
Bone meal: 375 g
Vitamin & mineral premix: 125 g
Salt: 125 g

3. FINISHER FEED – 25 kg (5–7 weeks)
Maize: 16.25 kg
Soybeans: 5 kg
Fish meal: 1.25 kg
Wheat bran: 1.5 kg

Many people requested we calculate 500 layers for investors.
Let’s break it down step by step using 75% production, not unrealistic 90%.

Step 1. Daily Egg Production

500 layers × 75% production

= 375 eggs per day

1 crate = 30 eggs

375 ÷ 30

= 12.5 crates per day

So we can say about 12 to 13 crates daily.

Step 2. Daily Revenue

Price of egg per crate = ₦5,100

12.5 crates × ₦5,100

= ₦63,750 per day

Step 3. Weekly Revenue

375 eggs × 7 days

= 2,625 eggs per week

2,625 ÷ 30

= 87.5 crates per week

87.5 crates × ₦5,100

= ₦446,250 per week
Step 4. Monthly Revenue

375 eggs × 30 days

= 11,250 eggs per month

11,250 ÷ 30

= 375 crates per month

375 crates × ₦5,100

= ₦1,912,500 monthly revenue
Feed Calculation

Average feed intake for a layer is about 115g per day.

500 birds × 115g

= 57.5kg feed per day

Your feed bag is 25kg

57.5kg ÷ 25kg

= 2.3 bags per day

Price per bag = ₦14,500

2.3 bags × ₦14500

= ₦36250 per day

Weekly Feed Cost

₦36250 × 7 days

According to research, this is how to handle cabbage farming for seed.

1. Choose well-adapted varieties

3. Transplant with wider spacing (60–75cm)

4. Select firm, true-to-type heads only

5. Ensure proper isolation to prevent cross-pollination

7. Harvest when 70–80% of pods turn brown and dry properly
