Climate, Energy, water and food security, working with business leadership and companies, broadening the horizon for the Israeli economy were some of the key parts of the program.

Today the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an interagency conference which discussed reflections and insights from the COP 28 Climate Conference and preparations for COP 29 which will take place in Baku in November.

The conference was held with the participation of experts and senior officials from government ministries, the business sector, academia and civil society.

J. Tyndall, Head of the Environment Directorate at the OECD, was a keynote speaker of the conference and joined the participants virtually, from her organization's HQ in Paris.

Ms. Tyndall provided insights into her organization's activities and partnerships with countries around the world to address climate challanges.

Ambassador @YaelRaviaZadok, DDG and the Head of the Economic Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the role that Israel can play in providing solutions to fight the climate crisis.

"We have the ability to establish Israel's international position as a laboratory of climate innovation, as a growth engine for the Israeli economy through the development of markets and economic opportunities in response to challenges such as carbon sequestration, water security, energy security, food security and animal protein substitutes, health challenges, assimilation of technologies in the urban space and more."

She also emphasized the importance of the conference as a connecting platform of partnership between the various bodies and that the key to success in responding to climate challenges is based on synergies and interagency partnership.

Finally the conference was also the opportunity to present Amb. @CarmelaShamir the newly appointed national coordinator for Israel’s participation in COP 29.

Today we welcomed SG @MathiasCormann. With a very busy schedule, the meetings held w/ 🇮🇱 political & economic leadreship included his unequivocal condemnation of Hamas' #Oct7th horrfic terror attacks, a strong expression of solidarity w/Israel and a message of trust in the Israeli #economy.
We continue to strengthen Israel's collaboration with the #oecd

Très émue de recevoir la mère de Mia Schem, jeune femme franco-israélienne kidnappée le 7 octobre par les terroristes du Hamas, et toujours retenue en otage.

Paris demande sa libération immédiate et sans conditions, comme celle de tous les otages retenus par le Hamas.

Un mois après les attaques terroristes du 7 octobre dernier, 241 personnes enlevées en Israël sont toujours retenues en otages par le mouvement terroriste du Hamas à Gaza.

Alors que règne, chez certains, un silence sur le sort de ces enfants, femmes, personnes âgées, hommes captifs du Hamas, on ne ne peut que féliciter l’initiative très louable de la Députée @CarolineYADAN et du Président du groupe d’amitié France-Israël @MathieuMlefevre pour l’opération transpartisane qu’ils ont lancée à l'@AssembleeNat :
