Excellent day for Music at @TheElmsSchool today. Choir restarted with separate, well-spaced rehearsals, and Year 3 whole class recorder lessons got off to a flyer thanks to ingenious instruments from @NuvoInstrument and super music from @sazzashrimp#candomusic@MusicTeachers_
With COVID-19 having a huge impact on the music-making landscape, today we are announcing that our Modulo Programme for state secondary schools will be free of charge offering vital support to music teachers and young musicians this year 🎉 (1/3)

Two years ago my niece's school told her they wouldn't run GCSE music as not enough students wanted to do it. She refused to pick anything else and in the end convinced them to run it and 10 other pupils got to choose it to! She aced it and is now going on to study ALevel music!
'We urge the government to either extend the EBacc to include arts subjects, including music, or scrap it altogether. In light of the continued decline in music education... the National Plan for Music Education must be refreshed.’ @Bacc4theFuture
