There’s one pot of money that never seems to come up in discussions about DOGE, government funding, or foreign aid—and that’s the $7 billion in reserves that belonged to the Afghan government when it collapsed.

If you’ve heard me mention this before, you know $3.5 billion of it was quietly moved to Switzerland. It’s now overseen by two Afghans, a State Department official, and a Swiss government body. We were told this money could be used by the Taliban to pay bills—supposedly for things like passports.

But here’s the strange part: U.S. State Department officials in Doha, Qatar gave the Taliban another $11 million in May 2025 to pay for passport books. So what exactly is going on with the Swiss-based funds? Where is the oversight? Why are we using U.S. taxpayer dollars to buy Taliban passport books when they have billions to cover it?

More importantly, what about the other $3.5 billion? That portion was reportedly put in a bank account in New York by the Biden Administration, and we were told it was intended for the victims of 9/11. Do the math—think about how much interest that money has earned just sitting there. The 9/11 victims are known and documented—So, why hasn’t a single cent been allocated in over four years?

Where is the money? Where are the interest earnings? Who is in charge of this money? Why hasn’t it been disbursed?

We should demand that this money—and the interest—be transferred to 9/11 victims within 90 days. Before it’s gone, just like the $200 billion that vanished after Gaddafi fell—much of it into Swiss and New York banks as well, never accounted for, never investigated.

Are we really okay with watching another fraud unfold—this time involving money set aside for actual terrorism victims and for our heroes from 9/11?

As the main union of East Coast dockworkers (ILA) goes to strike, billions of dollars of goods will be stranded in major ports like New York-New Jersey & Houston. The ILA, whose boss took home over $900,000 last year from union dues, is now backed by President Biden in the labor dispute even though it may cost the economy up to $5 billion a day.

Biden's decision to back the union bosses means that the supposedly neutral referees in the National Labor Relations Board, a creature of the administrative state, have already picked sides to the detriment of American workers & consumers.

According to the World Bank's 2023 Container Port Performance Index, which measures efficiency, the US does not have a *single* port that is ranked in the top 50 globally. This is no coincidence. While ports from the Netherlands to Australia work to automate to great success, union contracts limit the ability of ports to adopt technology that enhances efficiency.

This isn't new. Back in the 1950s, leaders in the same union opposed containerization - a major innovation that ushered in an era of global trade, reduced the cost to unload a boat from about $6/ton to 16¢/ton, and made dockworkers' jobs safer, too.

Luddism isn't unique to the dockworkers' unions. Recall the Hollywood strikes over streaming technology in 2023 that have left a negative impact on the industry: unemployment in the film and TV industry is now roughly 3x the national average.

Actual technological advances can *enhance* the well-being of American workers or consumers. But union bosses' efforts to coddle workers by limiting innovation leaves the whole country worse off as a result. And the National Labor Relations Board is ultimately responsible for coddling union bosses who send their workers on strike.

The right answer is the same one we need for the rest of the nanny state: SHUT IT DOWN.

It gets even worse. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is refusing to identify which airports they are being shipped to.

“The program at the center of the FOIA litigation is perhaps the most enigmatic and least-known of the Biden administration’s uses of the CBP One cellphone scheduling app, even though it is responsible for almost invisibly importing by air 320,000 aliens with no legal right to enter the United States since it got underway in late 2022,” said journalist Todd Bensman (@BensmanTodd)

“Under these legally dubious parole programs, aliens who cannot legally enter the country use the CBP One app to apply for travel authorization and temporary humanitarian release from those airports. The parole program allows for two-year periods of legal status during which adults are eligible for work authorization.”
