@KylieJaneKremer I think we have to both compete and cooperate with China. I don't think it is in our best interests to ostracize nations. But as a boost to your concern...my question would be why we allow all these China-owned applications...boosting their economy and known spyware.

@scottdclary @ZipRecruiter But don't they just use AI to dump the majority of our resumes anyway? In today's economy, people are sending out hundreds of tailored resumes and cover letters. Ultimately, we should stop using AI in job hiring and open up more HR positions to sift through resumes.

I learned a new term this week- regulatory capture. This happens when a regulatory agency, created to protect the public, ends up advancing the commercial interests of the industry it oversees. For example, the FDA receives large user fees directly from pharmaceutical companies to fund drug approval, alongside a revolving door of executives switching between Big Pharma and the agency. The ultimate question becomes- are the regulators protecting the American citizens or are they cashing out to help corporate interests?
