reminder that using ai is supporting these things:

- the concreting over of areas of natural beauty and/or preventing social housing being built

- worsening of the climate crisis through energy demand. the amount of electricity used, not only in the machine learning phase, but also the daily prompting through LLM’s is insane. projected energy usage by 2030 would be nearly triple that of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria combined.

- the noise pollution that’s preventing wildlife from mating, finding prey or escaping predators and also being investigated for possibly worsening dementia

- the theft and plagiarism of the entire catalogued history of art, music and literature in order to “create” the worst most soulless slop known to man

- the mass surveillance of our population through things like flock cameras, which constantly surveil people for “pre crimes” and are being actively misused by law enforcement to target ex partners or for false arrests

- the wasting of clean drinking water at a time when large swaths of the earth are in drought

- the use of forever chemicals (PFAS) to cool systems, leading to water contamination and chemical pollution that is linked to high rates of cancer

- the inflation of energy bills, making every day living more difficult, especially for those already on the breadline

- contribution to the class divide through cognitive surrender and dependency on LLM’s for critical thinking, particularly in the working class

- heat islands, where areas near data centres can experience a permanent temperature increase of around 2°C (estimated to affect 340 million people)

- war and the deaths of civilians. maven smart system, the ai used by the US military, partly provided the outdated information that lead to the targeting of Shajarah Tayyebeh Elementary School, killing 123 CHILDREN.

- putting money in the pocket of the ped0phile billionaires who want to see the world burn while they sit in their luxury bunkers :)
