@CSandbatch An embarrassment of riches! Last night’s Goose show was apparently one for the ages, but the Welch/Rawlings tour is a rare and delicate treat. Can’t go wrong
@homegymcoop High handles on the trap bar achieve the same pendulum effect. It’s great for OHP because it’s super-stable overhead, although you do have to remove the lower handles to use it this way. I get what he’s trying to do but this looks lethal
@TheStalwart In songs of that era, “disconnect the phone” was like “netflix and chill.”
“I can't wait to get her home where we can finally be alone. Disconnect my telephone" Sam Cooke “Ain’t That Good News”
“Someone should call, don’t answer the phone” Solomon Burke “Tonight’s The Night”
@patcarino Almost certainly a floor area ratio (FAR) workaround. An open garage probably doesn't count against their buildable square footage and an enclosed garage would have put them over their lot's square footage allowance
@itsiansu Bob was my neighbor and I was his model for the cover art on Where the Red Fern Grows. I use it as my pfp. I was 11 years old and I had no idea what the illustration was for until I was well into my 30s
@simonsarris I listened twice as well! And I replayed the section starting with "I've got a motor-car and a basket of strawberries and a bottle of Château Peyraguey—which isn't a wine you've ever tasted, so don't pretend. It's heaven with strawberries" many times
@perpetua Very strange; it must have something to do with how it broke across two lines (“steve” and “miller band”) and my eyes just passed over without registering it as a coherent whole
@GrantSlatton@raskolnehkov@stanfordNYC Missing Shannon, Hilary, & Ashley. And I’d be surprised if Pat was ever considered masculine; hasn’t it always been a unisex nickname for both Patrick & Patricia? Like Sam (Samuel or Samantha), or Teddy (Theodore or Theodora)
@pglonghouse Jeeves is a VALET, you filthy casual. A gentleman’s personal gentleman. If there’s a staff shortage, he can buttle in a pinch, but he is NOT a butler
@Murphuvan Hitting the bathroom during the first 4 minutes of a major jam vehicle is absolutely the pro move. Quickest time to go and then you can lock in for the jam
@Joshstrangehill The way he read it, “a hot, flat rock for Jub Jub” seems like it’s always been an element in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. It echoes in my head
@charliemiller87 @Spotify@AppleMusic I want to do this but I've heard Apple Music might re-tag the thousands of hours of Grateful Dead I've painstakingly downloaded and catalogued in what used to be iTunes and now Apple Music. I'm especially concerned about official releases (e.g. 2013 HDTracks hi-res remasters).
