@serialhobbyist1 This chasm surfaces in so many of my conversations - half of my friends are in each bucket, and it often leads to the over-engaged (me included) off in a corner by ourselves 😀
If your mascot isn’t a mustached alcoholic in lederhosen who lives in a chalet and frequently slides into a giant beer mug you’re not trying hard enough.
@AshRuns100s Also here (from MN) and this is not exactly typical. That said, drive slower and all is good. The trail should clear up by the afternoon as it gets trampled and the sun comes out. Expect to be cold though 🥶
@serialhobbyist1 A similar thought crossed my mind last night - perhaps one of the more esoteric motivations for doing so too. Also makes me wonder where all the Libertarian candidates went these past few cycles
I get this 100%, and have more than once searched for property in Fillmore County; if it weren’t for the kids and their fantastic situations in Rochester schools, or my appointed city board position…

Will they permanently stay? Will they encourage their friends to move out to those predominantly red districts. Will they run for city council and get involved in these communities? Or will they run back into the city. So far? They all plan to stay.

The limited downtown racks are consistently overfilled.
There is not enough space in all of downtown to store the # of cars.
This is simple math. Make it safe to use other options than just cars.
This transition is going to take #AllTechOnDeck: transmission, pipelines (nat gas, hydrogen, CO2), nuclear and nat gas generation, carbon capture, wind, solar, energy storage…and domestic mining for the necessary rare earth minerals.
But we gotta be able to #BuildStuff. 2/2
Michael’s thread hits on so many of the benefits of EVs if you’re looking to buy a new car. GM is the real enabler here, as they’re leading the way with <$30k options. Especially note the e-bike, and how cost-effective that option is.
I believe we are at an inflection point like we hit with LED bulbs a few years back. Next... Onto electric home hearing and cooling, which has even more potential... #rochmn treehugger out...
