Warmest congratulations to Egypt and its people on Revolution Day!
Building on the longstanding historical ties between our countries, Albania looks forward to further strengthening our relations and cooperation. We highly value Egypt’s important role in advancing peace and stability in the Middle East. 🇪🇬🤝🇦🇱
📍Ankara -- Today's announcement at the conclusion of the NATO Summit in Ankara, reaffirming the decision taken at the NATO Summit in The Hague to hold the next NATO #Summit in Albania, marks yet another historic milestone for our country.
Hosting the Alliance's leaders is both a great honour and a profound responsibility, one that Albania is ready to assume with pride and determination. Above all, it is a clear recognition of our country's unwavering commitment to our shared values, Euro-Atlantic security, and collective defence.
It also reflects the trust that our Allies place in #Albania and acknowledges our growing role as a reliable contributor to regional stability and to the broader #European security architecture.
It will be yet another opportunity for Albania to demonstrate its ability to perform on the biggest international stage, successfully hosting an event of such magnitude and strategic importance while showcasing professionalism as well as the exceptional #hospitality and warmth for which our country is known.
We look forward to welcoming #Allied leaders to Albania and to contributing to discussions that will shape the future of our Alliance at a defining moment for our collective security.

📍Brussels: Very pleased to participate today, for the first time in my new capacity, in the informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union with their counterparts from the #WesternBalkans.
The key points I shared with European and regional colleagues:
👉 The world as we once knew it has been profoundly shaken. The rules and certainties we long considered guarantees of stability now appear increasingly fragile. Overlapping crises, geopolitical fragmentation and intensifying strategic competition have moved to center stage. In such a context, unity of purpose and unity of action are no longer optional — they are imperative.
For #Albania, unity means coming together in every possible format to build stronger cohesion, greater resilience and a clearer geopolitical vision. But ultimately, the clearest expression of that vision is enlargement and European accession.
👉 For Albania, #EUEnlargement is our lifeline, a strategic choice, a civilizational anchor and the strongest guarantee for long-term peace, stability and democratic transformation. We also believe enlargement is equally important for the European Union itself, as demonstrated by every previous seven enlargement cycles. It must remain merit-based, of course, but also #credible, #tangible and #actively pursued. Whenever the process stalls, vulnerabilities emerge and hostile influences expand.
👉 This is precisely why we must deepen cooperation in foreign, security and defence policy, while strengthening cohesiveness and strategic like-mindedness across #Europe. For Albania, alignment with the European Union is not a menu from which to selectively choose. It is a standard and a commitment to be fully respected. In this regard, we allow ourselves only one #percentage: 100%.
👉 Strengthening #RegionalCooperation also means addressing vulnerabilities honestly and resolving pending issues with determination. The #WesternBalkans have undoubtedly changed for the better, but important work remains. The Balkans of the past may belong to history, yet much still needs to be done for the region to fully deserve the political and democratic meaning of “Western”, and not merely its geographical definition.
👉 Albania has consistently invested, and will continue to invest in regional cooperation and reconciliation because we remain convinced there is no viable alternative. In particular, the #NormalizationProcess between Kosovo and Serbia cannot and must not become an empty slogan or a permanently postponed objective. Twenty-seven years after the tragic events of 1999, the region deserves a future defined by stability, mutual recognition, cooperation and European integration.
👉 No country is immune to #Cyber or #HybridThreats. Albania’s experience has been painful and costly, but also instructive. We were seriously targeted, yet we learned, adapted and strengthened our resilience. We harbor no illusions: the closer we move toward the European Union, the more sophisticated and aggressive such threats will become, including through foreign information manipulation and interference (#FIMI). This is why closer cooperation and stronger resilience are essential.
🇦🇱 Albania will continue to pursue actively and unwaveringly its top national objective: membership in the European Union. We remain determined to do everything necessary to stay at the forefront of this historic process and make it a shared success, for Albania, for the region and for Europe.
It was heartening to see these convictions resonate strongly around the #European table today. 🇪🇺

A useful and productive exchange with the Ambassador of #Switzerland in Albania, Ms. Ruth Huber.
We reaffirmed the excellent state of our bilateral relations. I expressed our sincere gratitude for the Swiss #CooperationProgramme and its valuable contribution to our joint efforts to strengthen institutions, improve public services, promote sustainable growth, and support Albania’s EU integration path.
As our economic ties continue to deepen, driven by Swiss investment and a dynamic business presence in Albania, we agreed to further intensify our political dialogue and explore new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
I also conveyed our full support for Switzerland’s #OSCE Chairmanship and its forward-looking agenda, while acknowledging our effective coordination within other international organizations.
🕊️ Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Eliot Engel, a distinguished public servant who represented New York in the U.S. House of Representatives for over three decades (1989–2021).
A respected figure in American politics, he was also a steadfast and principled supporter of the Albanian cause, and in particular of #Kosova. He was among the strongest voices in Washington supporting the decisive U.S.-led military intervention to stop the ethnic cleansing of Albanians by the forces of the Slobodan Milošević regime.
His commitment did not end there; he remained a consistent advocate for Kosova’s independence and international recognition, helping to shape enduring U.S. support.
Congressman Engel championed democracy, human rights, and transatlantic values with conviction and clarity. His legacy will endure in the causes he advanced and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
May his soul rest in peace.
🇦🇱🇪🇸 A distinct pleasure to be in #Madrid to meet and exchange views with my colleague, José Manuel Albares Bueno @jmalbares.
Muchas gracias por la cálida bienvenida y la generosa hospitalidad. 🤝
As we mark the 40th #anniversary of the re-establishment of our bilateral relations, we reaffirmed that our political, economic, and cultural cooperation continue to serve as strong pillars of an enduring partnership. We also agreed that there is significant untapped potential in our relations, which we are committed to advancing—particularly in trade, tourism, sustainable energy, and other areas of mutual interest and benefit.
Our discussions also highlighted the importance we both attach to effective #multilateralism and close coordination in international fora, as we work together to address shared global challenges and promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.
I expressed our sincere gratitude to #Spain for its steadfast and continued support of Albania’s EU integration process, and reaffirmed our strong commitment to advancing reforms on our path toward European Union membership.
🇦🇱🇪🇸 Not simply a first and introductory meeting with Gabriel Cremades #Ventura, Ambassador of #Spain in Tirana. I expressed my appreciation for Spain’s consistent support for Albania’s #EU accession process.
As we mark the #40th anniversary of #diplomatic relations between Albania🇦🇱 and Spain 🇪🇸, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to further strengthening the excellent ties and cooperation between our two countries.
We also discussed my visit to Spain next week, which will further deepen our bilateral cooperation and bring our countries even closer.
There is much more we can achieve together, not only in #tourism, where #Meliá Hotels International has opened the door for greater Spanish presence, but also in renewable #energy, #infrastructure, #agro-industry, and other sectors with strong potential for partnership. 🤝

🇦🇱🇺🇦 Four years after Russia launched its unjustified brutal aggression against Ukraine, we stand in heartfelt remembrance of the lives lost and in unwavering solidarity with a nation defending its freedom, sovereignty, and democracy.

FM @larsloekke: “Good meeting with Albania’s new Europe & Foreign Minister @elisaspiropali. 🇦🇱 is an important NATO partner aiming for EU membership in 2030 -a goal 🇩🇰 fully supports. We also discussed increased trade & export opportunities in areas such as security and defense.”
Albania strongly condemns the very recent Russia's barbaric attack on Kyiv and other regions - another unacceptable escalation that continues to shatter lives and infrastructure.
Our sincerest thoughts are with the victims and injured people. Efforts must be intensified in every direction to make possible the ending of this unjustified war.
