The Mormon who lived on the American continent. Abridged so much, so all might know Jesus is the living Christ! Not an official account. Parody account.
What your children really want for dinner is you!
In an age of constant online connection, we may need to disconnect from technologies and other distractions to truly reconnect with our families.
Families grow stronger when they set aside these distractions and spend meaningful time together—learning eternal values like the importance of marriage and children, the purpose of life, and the true source of joy.
Parents also have a duty to teach their children practical knowledge apart from gospel principles. Families unite when they do meaningful things together. Happy family experiences strengthen family ties. Camping, sports activities, and other recreation are especially valuable for bonding families.
Some may say, “But we have no time for any of that.” To find time to do what is truly worthwhile, many parents will find that they can turn their families on if they all turn their technologies off.
What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.
My soul is not rent with anguish, because of this pleasing video about the House of the Lord. Holiness to the Lord. The House of the Lord’s Love! https://t.co/If2j4pJnM2
We are grateful to know that there are two methods of gaining needed knowledge. There is no ultimate conflict between knowledge gained by these different methods because God, our omnipotent Eternal Father, knows all truth and beckons us to learn by them both.
The Son cometh in glory soon! Prepare ye the way of the Lord! He will gather as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings and will nourish you! Oh ye people repent and return unto Him with full purpose of heart that your dwelling place be not desolate!
Jesus Christ knows you perfectly—your joys, your sorrows, and your heartaches. Because He has already suffered and triumphed, you are never alone. Come feel His love at church with us this Easter Sunday. #GreaterLove
We read in the New Testament, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
The “lively hope” we are given by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is that death is not the conclusion of our identity but merely a necessary step in the destined transition from mortality to immortality.
No matter what others believe or do, we should celebrate the Resurrection of our living Savior by studying His teachings—especially at Easter. He is risen! #GreaterLove
On this Mother’s Day, I have reflected about how our Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation was entirely dependent upon the heroic actions of two valiant women: Eve, the mother of all living, and Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
These heroic actions continue today, as women from all walks of life—and in every circumstance imaginable—give the precious gift of a mortal body to God’s beloved sons and daughters. How grateful I am for my own mother (pictured here), who impacted my life for good in more ways than I could ever describe.
Because motherhood plays such a vital part in the success of our societies and in the fulfillment of God’s plan for His children, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continuously collaborates with dedicated leaders and charitable organizations to improve conditions for mothers and children around the world.
Earlier this year, the Church participated with the Nursing and Midwifery Development Center to open a 36,000-square-foot training facility to train nurses and midwives in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. This facility will help women and children survive and thrive.
In Memphis, Tennessee, USA, the Church has collaborated with the NAACP to create the MyBaby4Me initiative, designed to help equip mothers with the knowledge they need to care for their young children and reduce infant mortality rates.
In both of these instances, the Church participated with extraordinary women to implement these tremendous efforts. The day-in, day-out influence women from every circumstance have as they lift, mentor, encourage, console, teach, and love others is remarkable. In other words, women mother us all.
On this Mother’s Day, I salute all women who give tirelessly of themselves to make life better for all of us.
A temple dedication reminds us to rededicate ourselves to faithfulness in the work of the Lord. A dedicatory prayer offers a temple to the Lord and sets it apart for its eternal purposes in the work of His kingdom. I was privileged today to offer the dedicatory prayer for the Urdaneta Philippines Temple.
Because of the restoration of the gospel, we understand our Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. The ultimate purpose of the temple is the exaltation of the children of God, which can be attained through the ordinances of the Lord’s temples.
Temple teachings center on Jesus Christ. All that is taught here relates to our Savior. This is His House. This is His work, and the work of His Father. I pray that our Heavenly Father will help us qualify for the blessings that are our destiny as His children.
We can help others find the Savior's healing hands. It is so nice to know all my hard work is paying off. Thanks to all who took my abridgment, 200 million prints! Sure beats all the hand engraving I had to do. Thank thee Lord for latter-day printers! @DaleGRenlund
It is a miracle that the Book of Mormon came forth, but the real miracle happens when you come to know for yourself that it is true. That is what changes lives.
The Book of Mormon has changed my life because of what it has taught me about Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and your Savior, my Redeemer and your Redeemer.
