@MikeSMillerArt@AkiraleTorimaki@noname782721391@Primary_Pianist The point comes down to the same fundamentals. Christ is our savior, died for our sins, his grace is sufficient for all things, by faith his grace comes upon us, through our faith and his grace we can repent and follow him, through his grace we may be joint-heirs
@MikeSMillerArt@AkiraleTorimaki@noname782721391@Primary_Pianist And the same for biblical teaching we are saved by grace but we can’t throw revelation 22:14 “blessed are they and do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life and they enter in through the gates into the city”
@MikeSMillerArt@AkiraleTorimaki@noname782721391@Primary_Pianist Quoting something in a vacuum and removing context is not quoting scripture. And if you couple all we can do with the understanding that we can do nothing save it be through Christs grace we come to the conclusion that we need his Grace to keep his commandments …
@MikeSMillerArt@AkiraleTorimaki@noname782721391@Primary_Pianist No that would be incorrect. It’s not after all we can do. The church does teach that only through Christ’s grace can we repent and change. Only through his grace can follow his commandments. Without his grace we can do nothing good. Our works without Christ are nothing
@tnsampson2@Primary_Pianist LDS absolutely believe in the biblical Christ, works cannot save anyone, and Christs grace alone is what saves. Quick question works do not save but can you have Faith and not have works? Do works help someone have more faith?
@AkiraleTorimaki@noname782721391@MikeSMillerArt@Primary_Pianist The LDS church literally teaches and professes this very thing. Shocking I know😱! The LDS church actually believes the teachings in the Bible. If we open our eyes we learn something new every day
@StarrSears3@Ptrickstar@EvidenceOfFaith Everything you said here is false. Also, are you a Freemason? How would you know how closely they align? Even if they align closely do you understand enough of the historical context to definitely determine good or bad? Dunning-Kruger has a hold on you for sure.
@Guns_UpViking@taco_talks Can you point me to where in genesis you are referring? Are these traditions written in a papal letter or something that could be referenced. It’s a new concept for me that Mary was created outside of time and space. I knew the position was that she was sinless but not that
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing I think when we cut out the speculations and stick to doctrines we are much closer than people realize. There are certainly some differences but I don’t think anything that should be putting people into war of words in theology. But that’s my opinion
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing Fair enough I used the word Earth because it’s commonly used to describe planets capable of supporting life in distant galaxies. I didn’t mean to imply this earth
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing I know you wrote that in frustration but believe me I don’t care one iota about followers. This is literally the first time I have ever engaged with people on here and this will never be my career. I don’t have Main Character syndrome 🤣🤣
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing Where I stand we do our job is to do our best and Christs grace covers everything including our misunderstandings of his nature and in the end he judges. I hope you have a great life as well and God bless
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing Brings many false conclusions. To our detriment in some ways but overall very positive. Members stay actively engaged in prayer scripture study and repentance as they desire to know God better and become one with him. Also having more scripture to speculate with complicates thing
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing I think that you can see I have owned up to everything and only drawn a clear line as to where doctrine ends and where speculation begins. Like you none of us know all the things of God. Members have been taught to seek gospel truths where ever they may be. That undoubted …
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing The official teachings of the church only suggests that Gods progression if you call it that is glory to him as his children choose to return to him. There is not a doctrine that God is becoming more perfect or knowledgeable or anything of the sort. What defines eternal progress?
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing Me that there may be a “Heavenly Mother” that participated in some fashion of our creation but that would be my speculation and not church doctrine
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing I didn’t hide anything. The only possible reference to a heavenly mother is the proclamation to the world on the family that I quoted verbatim. The other possible reference is in genesis “ let us create man in our image … male and female”. That is a clear indication to …
@js70400@JasperHill84563@surskitmaxxing It’s all good. This is literally the first time I have ever said anything to anyone on here because I was frustrated with how no one was actually being reasonable. No one was making a difference between doctrine of the church and speculation. Which every one does in all religion
