How to get fit?
- Go to the gym
- Lift weight 3-5x a week, 150 mins of cardio/week, 10k steps every day.
- 1.8g to 2g of protein per kg of body weight
- Avoid direct sugars and limit junk (sugar, processed food and fried chicken are your enemies)
- Follow push, pull, legs split up
- Consistency beats over-optimisation every single time.
- Avoid alcohol and cigarettes
- Decide on your weight loss or muscle building goal
- Like finance, fitness is very personal; someone's playbook will not work for you.
- Maintenance calorie = BW x 2.2 x 14
- Be in a 200-300 calorie deficit
- Calories are weekly averages.
- Measure your calorie intake and workouts. What gets measured will be managed.
- Push ups, pull ups and squats are a true measure of strength.
- Aesthetics != Fitness
- Don't do it for social media clout, no one cares
- Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. Like brushing, do it every day. Make it a lifestyle
- Aim to build strength, muscle and endurance first.
- Six packs are overrated.
- Basic milestone: 30 pushups, 10 pullups, Body weight free squats, bench press, and 2x BW deadlifts
- Goal is 12-15% body fat
- No fancy workouts, target every muscle 2x a week with 2 day cool-off
- Great strength and proper diet will eventually lead to aesthetics.
- Don't skip more than 2 days.
- You can't starve to lose weight
- Running, badminton, and swimming are all secondary choices for losing weight.
- There are no shortcuts, it is just someone else getting rich off you.
- You may need money to get fit, but even money can't buy fitness. You have to earn it.
- Caffeine and Bananas are an ideal pre workout.
- Whey protein is a choice, and creatine is good for you.
- Visible results take 90 days.
- Enjoy the pain and discomfort. Don't wear gloves. It makes you look weak. Calluses are trophies of pain.
- Above all: Sleep 8 hours every night. Recovery is as important as training intensity.
- Gym is to avoid being tired, not to be tired of it.
