@tonimareehearn other artists hate them because the market around them is predicated on wild, unfounded speculation that artificial scarcity will create value. you could also hate them because producing the digital identifiers are harmful to the climate--its a computationally intensive process
@tonimareehearn some artists like them because it means that they can sell digital versions of their work more easily. the "one of a kind"-ness has value to some collectors in a way that buying a plain old high-res copy of an image usually doesn't.
