Brendan Sorsby's attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, tells ESPN of the NFL's decision to not hold a supplemental draft: "It is a violation of the CBA and the law. We will pursue this immediately with the NFLPA."
From NFL general counsel Lawrence Ferazani to Brendan Sorsby: "By all accounts, you are a talented player with the potential for future success. We encourage you to focus on preparing for possible entry into the NFL through the 2027 NFL Annual Draft."
Just in: NFL is declining to hold a supplemental draft this summer, currently leaving the 2027 Draft as the only way for QB Brendan Sorsby to enter the NFL.
A letter is being sent to Sorsby, and to all 32 NFL teams, to inform them of the league’s decision.
The league continues to try to show it has little tolerance for gambling issues.
I certainly expect Sorsby and his camp to explore legal action but the NFL believes it’s clear as written in Article 6 of the CBA, “In any League Year in which the NFL deems it appropriate, there may also be a Supplemental Draft.”
The NFL did not deem it appropriate in 2026.
The NFL has informed teams that it will NOT be holding a Supplemental Draft, meaning Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby will not be eligible to enter the NFL in 2026.
The CBA allows the league to decide whether to hold a Supplemental Draft, and this year, it won’t.
Blake Monroe is set to finally make her SmackDown debut during the taping currently taking place in the UK, which will air this Friday.
