I have today realised I need to wear my reading glasses more often than not. I need your reading glasses tips. I currently have one pair that are now living on top of my head. 🤓 Is this acceptable? #readingglasses#reading#smallprint#gettingolder
Favourite bridleway walk today. Surprisingly not too muddy. The reservoir pond area was flooded. Still so much colour around: chicory, fleabane and spindleberry alongside rosehips, hawthorn and sloe. #autumn#Michaelmas#cambridgeshire#walking#wildflowers
Two frogs in my wildlife pond created last year. 😁 Had one solitary frog for a while, so super happy he/she's got a friend. Eagle-eyes needed to spot them in the photo! #wildlifepond#commonfrog
Beautiful few days in the Peak District for our wedding anniversary. Lots of walking - Ilam to Dovedale, Mam Tor, Thor's Cave. Into Buxton for dinner. So gorgeous there. Made a change from the flatlands of Cambs! #peakdistrict#nationaltrust#mamtor#ilam#dovedale#thorscave
Our new edition is out TOMORROW! It's more compact than the last - and it has shiny gold letters on the cover 😍 We hope it will introduce a new bunch of readers to our little project, charting the microseasons of the year!
It's been a 'Good Life' kind of weekend - homegrown runner beans blanched and frozen, homegrown beetroot pickled. Foraged blackberries and donated apples made into a crumble. And homegrown beans, carrots and potatoes for dinner! #allotment#homegrown
@HelenRo88542779@greatfen@NaturalEngland I know 😞 And I do visit the Great Fen often so I'm usually clued up re ticks. It was so warm today though that I went with shorts. Most of the walk was great but the last section as your turn by the side of the house on the trail back to New Decoy was awful. Lesson learned 😔
Lovely long walk along the Last of the Meres Trail @greatfen today. So many dragonflies. Can recommend! Be aware though the section through Holme Fen NNR @NaturalEngland is really overgrown with stinging nettles - not nice when wearing shorts! #ouch#wildlifebcn#greatfen
@HelenRo88542779 Sounds like a good long walk! I go over to Strawberry Hill quite often at the moment. I did need to look up the owl feathers to double check but they are such a distinctive colour they couldn't have been anything else. It was a rare find! I have a few pheasant feathers too :-)
Today's finds on my favourite walk - two barn owl feathers, guilder rose berries, puffball and sow thistle. Beds/Cambs border. #nature#wildlife#barnowl#wildflowers#fungi
Best 5km run since my April injury. Feeling pretty happy. What I need to do now is get back outside and that makes me nervous tbh. #running#postinjury#strava#garmin
I really do have the best job with @wildlifebcn . Just spent the morning walking with a lovely couple who are going to help with our https://t.co/VluwjDcPJo . Wonderful wildflowers and lots of butterflies. It's a special place. #savestrawberryhill
12 weeks of no running thanks to a painful tib post injury. Tonight I ran 3km. Not far and not fast but it felt great. Plan to get back to 10km. Literally have gone from no weight bearing to running again. Amazing physio from Emily @rehabhubGB#running#physio#garmin
Instead of donating to a political party over the next 3 weeks, why not donate to https://t.co/6P2x2w42Hz now. It's prettier, and will last a lot longer than whoever claims No. 10 on the 4th July. #wildlifebcn#savestrawberryhill#nightingales#naturegetsmyvote
@TheFens3 The house right next to the wood? It's still lived in! Hadn't really thought about it as an old railway building but it makes sense. Hope you get to visit the wood later in the year.
