@LukeTryl This doesn’t surprise me. Flags (taken as a proxy) are most seen in working class areas here. Some of the general election results should have prompted a focus on these issues. But instead ignored & allowed to fester. Grim
Lord Forsyth, active campaigner for assisted dying legislation, who forced a vote in 2022, has written to the Times, alongside Conservative peer George Bridges, to declare Kim’s bill “not fit for purpose”. He draws on the damning report from Lords’ Delegated Powers C’ttee
As I launch #ChildrensPlan today I want to thank every school leader who took the time to respond & share this unique picture of children’s experiences of education. Without them, we wouldn’t have proof of how schools support children & care for children despite the challenges.
Very excited to be starting a Substack - writing about politics, education, strategy among other things. First post live today about what the Labour government needs to do to get back on the front foot this autumn. Please, read, share and subscribe. https://t.co/GItlZwblT2
A double tap? On a hospital? And with rescue workers on the scene? “A mishap”? Stop. Just stop. You know there’s an offer to release all the hostages and end this. So do hostage families and most governments. Stop now, and save what’s left of Palestine and Israel.
I didn’t stay on for A-levels & did an access course in my 20s before Uni. I was lucky: I met people along the way who saw something in me & saw options I didn’t see for myself. We all need to look for & nurture talent. And if they break the mould they may need that even more
On this important day for all students picking up your A Level, T Level & BTec results - huge congratulations to all who achieve your desired results or more! And to those of you who don’t, I didn’t either & I learned that beyond the disappointment there was loads of opportunity!

To serve the government of the day well civil servants must be free and trusted to speak at events and take Q&A. This ban will be damaging & I hope there is a rethink
Frankly outrageous from the govt. This new, and I think unprecedented, ban on civil servants speaking in public will damage public debate, politics, policy making and the civil service itself.
What are they thinking?

Congratulations to David. And most of all a massive thank you to Annie Hudson for her leadership of the Panel - including stepping up to identify changes needed in light of the murders of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson. And the abuse at Hesley

When tension is running so high globally, buy a copy of @BigIssue . It has been a career highlight to watch young people from @OnSide come up with ideas, write articles, grill politicians, & celebs & write about the issues most dear to them. The future is safe in their hands. 😍
🫥 'White working-class boys have become politically awkward for mainstream politicians to advocate for'
