Classic microcosm of Political Debate @campbellclaret on @TRIGGERnometry. The Immigration and Two Tier Policing Hot Topics: No acknowledgement of the legal architecture - The 1998 Human Rights Act (ECHR embedded into UK Law) and 2010 Equality Act (9 ‘protected’ characteristics, Institutions can DEI discriminate) - enacted by New Labour. Only when this, and similar, legislation is repealed can we move forward.
Listening to yesterday @dailytpodcast interview w/ @dominicgrieve_, concerning the introduction of an Anti-Muslim Hatred non-statutory instrument / definition, was a soul destroying experience. Oh, learned man (former Conservative AG and eminent KC) heed the simple wisdom of our forebears: The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions.
@owenjonesjourno Is she not allowed, and wise, to change her opinions in light of markedly changed, and changing, circumstances? It’s actually both refreshing and encouraging to see a Senior Labour Politician respond meaningfully to over whelming and justified public demand for robust action…
@elonmusk@grok - The distribution of IQ as detailed within Charles Murray’s ‘The Bell Curve’
- MultiCulturalism / DEI Israel vs Rest of Middle East
- The impact of Teaching Unions and progressive Teaching Culture on Educational Attainment / Standards in The West
Wow, absolutely staggered by the ‘nothing to see here’ complacency of @jameskirkup and @LOSFisher on @R4WorldTonight last night when commenting upon the Rachel Reeves Linked In and Expenses revelations (thank you @GuidoFawkes). James Kirkup’s Partner status at Apella Advisors, IMHO, clearly impacts his objectivity. As for Lucy Fisher of the FT to apparently see no linkage - or possible link? - between what the investigations reveal and the suitability, from both an ethical and professional perspective, of Reeves as UK Chancellor - UK Chancellor! - was, for this listener, truly astounding (not in a good way 😩).
Thanks to #Spectator#CoffeeHouseShots for featuring #PaulMason. It was (depressingly!) enlightening to hear worker vs business NI payments framed as part of the class struggle. Similarly, economic growth to follow public investment as opposed to the reverse. Back to the 70s 😩.
Just listened to #MattGoodwin#NickRobinson#BBCSounds#PoliticalThinking podcast. These super highly paid (£345K+ p.a.) BBC Civil Servants are a disgrace. The NR objective was loud and clear: racism gotcha. Zero engagement with the issues raised and, of course, wilfully blind.
Labour Manifesto Part 16 of 16. For the 15 reasons (and more) outlined above a 2024 Labour Election victory terrifies me. Our UK Government will significantly expand whilst we, the citizens, will become smaller and more constrained. God Help Us 🙏. #UKElection2024#Labour
Labour Manifesto Part 1 of 16. The 2024 Labour Election manifesto (131 pages) has SHOCKED this UK voter. Election manifesto’s become the law of the land, especially when the majority is large. So what makes me so fucking terrified? #UKElection2024#Labour
Labour Manifesto Part 15 of 16. Incredibly - and stupidly - Labour will reduce the voting age to 16. This will: bring politics into our schools; give children the vote. MADNESS - MADNESS - MADNESS! IRRESPONSIBLE - IRRESPONSIBLE - IRRESPONSIBLE! #UKElection2024#Labour
