We’re proud to announce that Dan McGrath will be inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame this October as part of the Class of 2025. He will also receive this year’s Excellence in Media Award.

A respected voice in Chicago sports journalism, Dan spent four decades in the newspaper industry, including 13 years as sports editor of the Chicago Tribune. His work helped shape how generations of fans connected with the athletes and stories that defined our city.

The Excellence in Media Award has been given to some of the most powerful voices in Chicago sports, including Fred Mitchell, Toni Ginnetti, David Kaplan, Mitch Rosen, and Jeff Joniak. We’re honored to add Dan McGrath to that legacy.
