81% of cladding materials being used in construction retain moisture, and this moisture can enter the wall system and cause damage that is time consuming, costly, and in some circumstances, irreversible. This is why #rainscreen products need to be installed. #buildingmaterials
The new ICC & Florida Commercial building code requires all new commercial buildings with wood-based sheathing in climate zones 1A, 2A, or 3A to have a ventilated airspace between the WRB and stucco. How do you create this airspace? By installing our Mortairvent Rainscreen.
Can your wall system defend against moisture damage? Building Science Professionals state that any area receiving over 20” of annual rainfall needs to have a gap within their wall system.
The total cost to repair these damages due to moisture infiltration = $100,000. What's worse than that is that the homeowners insurance policy only covers $5,000.
The next time that you're building, incorporate an engineered drainage and ventilation mat like Mortairvent®.

Are Rainscreens and Drainable House Wraps the same? No.
Drainable House Wraps will not drain or ventilate as efficiently as a Rainscreen.
Rainscreen products are one SKU for multiple sidings, while Drainable House Wraps are not
Drainable House Wraps don't meet ASTM E-2925
We offer many different residential products that work together to allow moisture to drain, not remain! Click below to learn more about Mortairvent and the other products installed in a residential wall! #buildingproducts#buildingmaterials#rainscreen

Moisture damage is detrimental for residential and commercial buildings, but how is moisture drawn into a wall in the first place? A major cause is capillary action. Essentially this means that the smaller a crack or fissure in a wall, the deeper the drawing power.
81% of siding materials are absorptive, which means that they will retain water. This includes Wood, Stucco, Manufactured Stone, Brick, Fiber Cement and Adhered Veneers. You need a capillary break in your wall to avoid moisture damage!
