Overall, they really just tried to cram a little too much into the time they had, I fear.

After Andor S2 came out, I was struck by how similar Maddie was to Kloris (Mon's driver) from a plot standpoint, and also how much better Andor did it by giving him just the tiniest bit of interiority.

If I wanted to argue for a sympathetic Maddie, I could say that she was playing up her callousness to prove to her commander that her loyalty was absolute.

I am fine with an ambiguous character, but we need something/

Did she feel regret? Did she ever consider telling Caitlyn everything? Or was she truly as loyal and ruthless as Ambessa says here?

Would have been nice to know, but as-is I guess she's a whole-ass monster.

I also like the idea that she broadcast a dislike of Ambessa to Caitlyn, so that if they ever happened to agree on something, it would come across as a no-brainer.

Partially for the narrative arc, of course, but also to let her have gear that doesn't look like a cartoon.

Also the performance is delightful. RIP Lance Reddick.

Paddy did a great job at giving Viserys pathos, but anyone who thinks the text was calling him magnificent should probably pay more attention.
