@msteggy There needs to be a reset in priority with the general public. This was a message from my friend yesterday. Why does a sofa delivery take precedence over a GP appointment.
@PortyGeoff @NursingNotesUK It's not explicit, but they're going to consider it. I'm fighting for nurses. I'm not even fighting for myself, I'm fighting for ward staff, in particular the wards that are struggling. The areas that can't get staff. Other areas can also fight for their pay and go on strike.
@TomStocks1982 @SteveBarclay Agree; both Drs and Nurses should get a pay rise, agree that the starting salary of Drs is poor. However a Clinical Nurse over their career, no matter what they take on, the experience, the knowledge, the expertise, their wage can only increase by 20k, Drs can increase by 80k.
@griffinsean27 @SocialistNHS And that is from someone who likes football, really??? no greed in workers that deserve respect and pay, unlike footballers!!
@sjf70@SocialistNHS 37 years and I have been told every year, "now is not the right time". Keep oppressing the workforce and they'll keep leaving. A wage increase improves retention, reduces re-employment costs and agency costs. It improves the care given. It is not rocket science!
@karenlhillman@RoshanaMN @BMA_JuniorDocs @theRCN And that's why I support the strike for the nurses on the wards. It is such low pay for such a hard job. I am a heart failure specialist nurse, it is a hard job, I worked in ITU for 18 years, it is a hard job. I worked on the ward, left in 1992 because it was an impossible job.
@karenlhillman@RoshanaMN @BMA_JuniorDocs @theRCN Nurses get 1.3 times their wage so a new staff nurse up to 2 years would get ยฃ17 per hour for working a night shift. They get 1.6 times their wage for working Sunday. Newly appointed Sisters, first 2 years would earn about ยฃ22 per hour to work a night shift.
